For fuck's sake... I'm actually unsure what weapon I last posted here. Acquired a 30-06 Remington semi-auto rifle today with a detachable mag, 3-9x32 scope, etc...

Before that, a couple revolvers, and a Ruger LCP... (Laser sight to follow, or course.)

Pics to follow... I'm still sorting the shit out and finding new hidey-holes for all of 'em.

32 S&W 5-shot revolver. Worst gun ever made. It was given to me. I won't even fire the damn thing, out of respect for my own safety and dignity.

The damn thing was sold wholesale for around $15 in the late 70's, when it was made. Does that tell you anything?

Ruger "LCP" .380 Auto pistol. The sole reason you cannot easily find the 9x17 ".380" ammo ANYWHERE right now. Two months ago, retailers would practically give the rounds away, and now you literally have to go down on a nun to find it.

Just wait until I get my Crimson Trace laser for this little bitch...

Remington "Woodsmaster" Model 742, chambered in 30-06 Springfield, with a 3-9x32 Simmons scope.

    Fun times, fun times...

Have completely disassembled the 30-06, after one disappointing failure to eject episode with a factory brass round.

    Here's my day today:

Completely cleaned it, cleared 50+ worth of original grease and accumulated crud out of the inner workings.

Deciphered the barrel markings, and determined that this rifle was originally made in January of 1965.

Determined that it doesn't have an original shoulder stock, but have cleaned and oiled each (with Formby's wonderful products) as if they were original... and put the damn thing back together.

    Test fire to follow.

I shot my husband's .40 Beretta yesterday for the first time. I was afraid of it, but it didn't kick as hard as I thought. My wrists are like pretzels. I was afraid they would snap.

I'm too lazy to post a picture of it.

It looks like this (I think) but it has Ohio State Police on it or something like that.

Police trade-in that he bought, or did you get hitched to a cop?

Police trade-in. It was fun to shoot. My aim is bad because I am so worried about the kick that I aim up yet shoot down. I need to work on it, but at this rate, I would gimp someone.

I think I am going to try my 20 gauge shotgun this week. It was "neighbor shoot your gun day" last Sunday. The neighbors on both sides were shooting, so we figured we would shoot as well so that they knew we were armed. :)

Interesting... Never heard of a PD using Berettas before. Of course, the cop could have purchased the gun themselves, and traded it in for a new one.

Cops here in town are pushing for the city to buy them their guns, instead of having them buy their own. I think the whole idea is bullshit. When someone is forced to pay for something themselves, they take better care of it than when it's given to them as part of their job.

Hell, this is why the grocery store meat departments and barber shops make their employees buy and maintain their own cutting equipment.

BTW: I love "Neighbor shoot your gun day!" Only problem is that the only one that ever plays with me is the guy up the street with his air pellet rifle when cats come in his yard. This witnessed act is usually followed by a 12-ga burst into the ground, but in the general direction of his patio. That pistol-grip is actually pretty fucking fun to shoot one-handed, but you have to make sure to pick up the empty shells afterward, cuz it'll spit 'em out like an automatic.

    That take 3" or 3 1/2" magnums?

3" max. Doesn't bother me, as magazine capacity is directly affected by the length of the shell... :)

No, that's what the Ohio State Police use. It's stamped into the gun... or engraved. I dunno, it's on there.

I guess they started using Sig P229/P226 after they dumped the Berettas.

That I was "gettin' my gun"? That's my father-in-laws slang for ejaculation. He's hilarious. :)
