I bought a new computer on New Years Eve.. and it is still in the box. I have decided that I need to open the damn thing and well here I go... if I disappear - it is because I connected the wrong wires or something and caught on fire. I really really really hate doing this... I thought I could put it off longer- but when the porn starts slowing and looking like a slide show--- its time for a change . Shit I guess I will have to make a new screen name wont I... this sucks
yeaaaa... I did it. Hey my computer would put a red line under words I spelled wrong... how do I make this one do it?
You need spell checker? That's kind of sad. I'd say you probably had Firefox with spell checker turned on. It's pretty hard to screw up a computer now. Everything is colour coded and different shapes/sizes.
this computer has all kinds of new holes in it ... I figured out one- I put my dig cam thingy in it and it uploaded all my pics. pretty cool. Oh and the computer came with a new keyboars-mouse-speakers ... I am proud of myself for doing this all by myself .. like a big girl... so where do I go to DL music... in the old days I used limewire. I really need to make some new CDs... oh I guess I can step it up and get a IPOD or MP3 thingy huh. I know my car has a hole for one of those.. are MP3 and IPODs the same thing. I think asked that before ... LOMO I need some of your technoligical brain.. and your penis.
Don't get an Ipod. Get a Zune. I love my Zune and you can go online and register at the marketplace for like 15 bucks a month and have unlimited downloads and 10 free songs a month. Yes, the little input thingy is for an MP3 player so you will never have to make another CD again. They are great. I just wish I could find a good place on my dash to mount my Zune. And when you say stuff about Lomo, I get a little tinge of jealousy.
Oh and an Ipod and the Zune.... they are mp3 players. You can get one of those or a cheapie one, they are all pretty much the same, some just hold more songs and do other stuff. I don't know about the Ipod, but you can download videos even movies (depending on the memory) on a Zune, you can upload your pictures on it. You can listen to the radio on it and if there is a song on the radio that you like you can actually queue the song to be downloaded next time you log in to marketplace. It only works with the radio stations that broadcast the song info though I think. It doesn't work for me here with my podunk radio stations.
Bought the wife a 'Sansa' 1GB MP3 player that had an AM/FM/TV tuner built in for 30.00. That way when she breaks it or loses it we arent out the 100.00 + for an iPod. And I dont have to deal with iTunes. I use Azerus to DL music. You get the bittorrent files and it will download from mulitple seeders. The funny thing is instead of getting one song I will get an album, or like I did with GNR I got the whole discography. At one time I owned them all anyway, well I didnt buy the 'Spaghetti Incident'.
My Zune was a gift. I wouldn't have paid for it, but I'm really glad that I have it. I have a couple of little speakers for it so I can listen to music w/o the annoying headphones that came with it. I hate headphones.
okok NAUSEOUS... I need your technological advice ...and your monkey feel better now thanks..Im going to look into buying something this weekend. But knowing me it will sit in a box for month before I get up the nerve to open it.
I dont know about her, but I know Im feeling better.... I hate the ear buds, they always fall out. I am old school. I will go to the gym with big old headphones on. Then blare my death music. People usually leave me alone....
Okay, good. At least I know that my ears aren't deformed. Well, one of them is but that's beside the point.
How much are you wanting to spend? My 8GB Zune was about 150 bucks. 8GBs translates to I think about 2 thousand songs and I thought that was a lot, but I've almost filled it up. I looked into the Zens. I thought they looked cool, but you are on your own finding a place to download music. I don't know jack about ipods. I just know that the Zune is easy to use and the software/marketplace you download song from is easy to use and you can listen to whatever song you want too w/o downloading it. I don't know what Itunes does.
I dont want to spend alot- because I break things- and loose them. hell I get a new cell phone ever 5-6 months- always a cheap one because I know I will loose it or break it. I want something that I can put like 200-500 songs on, and plug it into my car, I dont care to liten to head phones. how much do songs cost?? I know when I did the Limewire thing it was free- but people say it is unsafe tod o free ones these days all my cds are scratched to hell and back.. yet I cant seem to throw them away. I only have like 6-8 that work good these days... and I am sick of them...2 are Cramps, 1 Front 242, the rest are KMFDM... I am so sick of them - and I hate radio ... I mostly listen to AM talk radio .. and lately with all the presidential crap- it has gotten dull. seems that is all they talk about now. I just ran out to my car- it does not say MP3 ..that hole just says AUX and is a small round hole..little smaller then a pencil . I could have sworn the sales guy said something about MP3s or something- I was not paying attention.. cause I figured I would never want one- I thought they were for kids.
I am scared I will get one, and not find any songs I like...I picture buying one..then going online and only finding crap... I just looked at Zunes - but do you have to DL songs at a Zune site? where is a site with lists of songs-bands- prices
The Aux is so you can plug in an mp3 player (or Ipod which uses mp4). Any cheapo unit you get at Walmart will plug in as long as you get the little aux cable. If you google azureus you should get the downloadable search program. I usually use it in a VM so if I get a bomb I can just delete the vm. If you download put it in a folder and scan it before you open it (safe). The last thing you want to do is get a new pc and blow it up with a virus.
I wouldn't spend the money on a Zune if it's gonna end up lost. Yeah, you download music from their site. You just download the software and they have a "marketplace" where you download from. It's 15 bucks a month and you can access it from three different computers. It's unlimited downloads. The only catch is that when you cancel your Zune membership, you lose your songs. But they do give you 10 free songs to keep forever a month, so if you cancel, you will still get to keep those songs. The selection is pretty good and they are always adding stuff. Some shit they don't have and I don't know why. I like that they will give you related artists so you can sit there and go from band to band and actually click on the songs and listen to them before you download. I'm weird about d/l music. I used to d/l from musicmatch but it was a buck a song. Hell, you can d'l from amazon too. A free site that you can d/l music from is http://www.insound.com/mp3/mp3s.php They have a bunch of not well known bands and some bands I've heard of. I discovered some cool music here and it's not infected with viruses and it's 100% legal. But I am retarded and haven't been able to get my existing music onto my Zune, so 97% of the music on my Zune is shit I already own.
Ladies, ladies, ladies!!! Just because the both of you are married doesn't mean we can't be friends! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That being said... I agree on the anti-iPod deal. My main beef with the iPod is that they pimp their own software (and they make you jump through hoops to perform what should be a relatively simple procedure of copying files to and from your computer and device.) Granted, there are alternatives to using the shitty iTunes program to put music on your iPod, but it's a pain in the ass to circumvent their shitty software. Apple has such a hold on the portable music market that they dominate the retail market of any device that purports to play digital music files. They're all licensed and made in such a fashion that it makes it easy for someone to just dock their new-age walkman into the cradle, and hear their music. Now, I own a few iPods, and have just bought my first Zune (it's a first generation model, 10G, purchased at the corner store, via the homeboy shopping network) - already, I can honestly say that even the first generation Zune is technically superior to the iPod. Granted, it doesn't have the huge following the iPod enjoys, nor the expansive catalog of accessories, but it will outperform the iPod in every way. If you have a simple "AUX" jack on your car stereo head unit, I would gauge my purchase on cost vs. storage. ANY mp3 player will play through your stereo - don't get suckered into buying an iPod and don't fall for the marketing ploys of these cheap, disaster-prone, knockoff imitations (flea-market type shit, although some of it shows up at mass retailers)... I've no experience with these other branded MP3 players, but I can probably assume that if they're 16 gigs or less, they probably use non-volatile memory as opposed to a small internal hard drive (which you'll find in most iPods and Zunes.) While the technology is inherently more reliable, more often than not, the companies behind them aren't. And, by the way... BIGMAMA - my penis is getting lonely...
Um... okay, that tinge went away. Carry on. Actually you two are a lot closer anyway... I say go for it. We need a Fugly hookup.
