Mossberg #50580 500 Cruiser. 20" Barrel, Pistol Grip, Heat Shield, 8 Shot (7+1). Barrel is slightly longer than my shoulder stock 12 ga, but magazine capacity is increased, as well as being shorter... 30" long (total.) The safety is on the top, which is kind of awkward, but I never enable 'em anyway, so it's not much of a concern. They make them in 18.5" barrels too, but mag capacity is reduced by 1 or 2, depending on the size shell you're using. Unlike other Mossberg 500 derivatives, this one only comes with the pistol grip attached (and not both) - probably a cost-saving measure to offset the expense of the heatsink above the barrel. $329 - worth it?
If that's the one yer in love with than you have to have it. Shotguns, for the most part, all seem to get a similar job done. Mr Cobain showed us the end results will about the same; dental records and fingerprints to answer the question, "Who WAS that guy?"! If you're doing the deed, I suggest hanging upside down in front of a freshly painted white wall (before someone else beats you to it and then you're just being a goth trendster).
I'm in love with all my guns. I'd never consider turning one on myself, though. This one seems like a nice thing to keep under the pillow, or under the seat... "Just in case" Compare the likelihood of needing it to the condom you keep in your wallet.
Alot, I'd take a picture of them, but he threatend to kill me if I took anymore pictures of his "tool shed".
Enough... But not enough. Watch... This is going to be me someday filming my grandson: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlkgE2B2p4k
shit yea, short money for a home protection piece like that. The heat shield is nice for when you grab it to fire from the hip. BTW, have you bump fired your AK? next best thing to full auto.
I haven't fired it since I heard of that technique... In fact, I'm having withdrawals not going to the range in over a month and a half (possibly two.)
Oddly enough, I trust some decisions to fate, and for some damned reason, a toss of the coin indicated that I should not purchase the Mossberg. Three fucking times in a row, even. Then, a fourth, a day later, and two hours past that, a fifth time. Either chance is laughing at me, or there's some higher consciousness dictating the landing of several coins. I still want the damn thing, though. Might even buy it tomorrow. We'll see what the coin says. *Coincidentally, my M4 upper receiver is due to arrive soon... Could end up being an early Xmas blast...
Target: Acquired. Apparently this model is no longer in production, and the particular version that happened to show up at two of the Academy stores in SA is attributed to an ordering mistake. Looking through the thread, I didn't notice any instance where I had indicated the carbon-fiber style parkerized finish on the pump and grip. The more I looked at it, the more I liked it. So, for the past two weeks, I've been following the last available one of these in all of San Antonio. It was on hold for a guy whose NCIS background check had a delay since 12/29. The paperwork is only good for 30 days, and knowing this, I was able to make sure this gun didn't sit on their shelf like the six others that've been on hold since November. Picked it up this morning. Pics to follow. I'm out to go shoot some shit.
I will be picking the Optics Ready Carbine next week. I have an eotech that will be going on the ORC right off. The R97F won't be in until June/July, so I'll wait, no other choice.
Those are badass scopes... Check out this combo - I just can't justify spending that damn much on a scope. Guess it'll be ghost rings and iron sights for the time being... I'm planning on snagging one of those BM Carbon lower receivers for an AR pistol. Looking at a ~2.5" buffer tube, and already have a 7" DPMS Kitty Kat UR on order from the same place I ordered the M4 upper from. Prices and availability are still outrageous, of course. Hell, there was someone listing stripped DPMS LR's about 20 min. away from me at $200/ea. I scoffed at the price, but of course, the next day they were both sold, pending funds. Next on the list (in most likely order): Glock 29 (10mm sub-compact to replace current carry pistol) 308 hunting rifle (w/heavy bull barrel, bipod, & 8-24x(+) scope) S&W 460 revolver (Alaskan Bear survival kit w/chartreuse grips & acc) Hell, one of these days, I think I'll even pick up a muzzle-loader (for when Barack tells me I need to start kickin' it old school.)
Almost forgot the pics... I love the smell of new gun in the morning: Where do you want the pain, hand or shoulder?: Daisy's checking 'em out... and wondering what the fuck this has to do with changing her litter box: It's gotta be the shoes:
I didn't realize this thread would start a podiatry discussion... The foot served no greater purpose than keeping the gun from moving while I took the picture. A feat (not "feet" ) inherently accomplished by the rubber recoil absorbing pad on the end of the 870 clone.
