Here's a good questions. And it's one I've thought about a lot. Do you think that, whoever Obama picks as his VP candidate is going to end up as President of the United States? I just think that there must be large group of idiot, racist rednecks out there who are cleaning their rifles and just waiting for this election to get close and then one of these fools is going to attempt to assassinate this poor guy. Does anyone agree with this or have any thoughts on it. This is a sensitive subject so be careful what you say.

I would say he definitely has something to worry about and that they would take special precautions to make sure that it didn't happen. I'm actually surprised it hasn't happened yet.
I've heard quite a few people say this might happen. It's always possible I guess but if he does get elected President I imagine he's going to have some insane security around him. I bet if you opened a window in a building during anything outdoors near him you would have a gun on you from somewhere.
I agree, there are millions of morons out there that for one reason or another would consider doing just what you've said. I don't, however, believe that mere mortal men can kill the anti-christ. Seriously, I think a lot of people (democrats and republicans) will vote against him because of the color of his skin. I will vote against him because I don't think he has enough experience to be president. I still think he is the consummate snake oil salesman.
Look at motive. What would be the result of Obama being assassinated? If Obama lives and succeeds in implementing his same old policy of yesteryear. That is if he sticks to his rhetoric it will be Jimmy Carters long awaited second term. You think we have an energy crisis now? You think we have an inflation problem now? You think we have an interest problem now? Well you are in for an awakening of gargantuan proportions. Leaving the left with another failed legacy and the world to see the stark reality of just how bogus the left wing rhetoric is. -Or- The left could have him “offedâ€. Of course the right wing would take the blame and the Left would get mileage off of the hate feelings for another hundred years. Obama dead is a win win situation for the left wingers and more notably ......... Hillary Rodham Clinton. On the other hand right wingers have everything to loose and nothing to gain from a dead Obama martyr.
Yep for extreme left wingers getting Obama killed with a gun would be a fantasy come true. They would quickly the next day have a Democrat house voting to amend the Constitution to void the 2nd amendment. The media would tell us that this was the straw that broke the camels back and it is what most of us wanted.

So Obama shows up a the Pearly Gates and St Peter stops him and asks what he has done to deserve entrance to heaven. Obama replies, "Well, I served the people my whole life, and capped it off by being elected the first African American President of the United States." Saint Peter looks a little surprised, and says, " You were elected President of the United States? When did that happen?" Obama looks at his watch and replies, " Oh, about 20 minutes ago...."
I have to admit, that's a very real and scary possibility. Every time I see him or his wife live on TV, all I keep thinking is that, at any second, there's going to be a gunshot and then three weeks of CNN breaking news coverage of the idiots (most likely from your redneck state) that did it.

A Denver TV station is reporting authorities may have foiled an assassination plot against Barack Obama, and there's talk the suspects may be members of a white supremacy group. KUSA-TV claims three men are in custody after a routine traffic stop in Aurora (near Denver) turned up two rifles, high-powered scopes, ammo and meth. The man in the car led authorities to a hotel where another suspect jumped out of a fourth floor window in an attempt to escape. A third guy was busted at another hotel but the info on him is sketchy. The arrests went down yesterday. The TV station says sources said "Two of the men had tattoos and jewelry popular with white supremacists. UPDATE-- The three men popped in Colorado who supposedly had a plot to kill Barack Obama will probably go to jail for a long time -- but not over an assassination plot. U.S. Attorney Troy Eid said there is "Insufficient evidence to verify that such a plot was real." But here's a list of the charges they do face: Tharin Gartrell: possession of a controlled substance. Shawn Robert Adolph: possession of a firearm by felon, possession of body armor by a violent felon and possession of methamphetamines with intent to distribute. Nathan Johnson: possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of methamphetamines.
The bad thing is I think Pelosi is third in line. How fucked up would that be. I just hope that if it happens it a black group that does it. His buddy Ayers is pretty radical, so if O-bomb-us is elected and turns his black on the black man, like Abe lincoln did to the white man (just check your coins) they cant say whitey did it.
