The lol seems to infuriate people that wanted to see it WAY more than me. I said "Lol I previewed Dark knight" to my bro and he nearly exploded. It makes it seem like you don't care about seeing the movie, thus you don't deserve it.

    Interesting take on it.

So was Ledger as the joker as good as everyone is saying, or is it people just being nice cause he's dead? Of course being the 'pivot' point in a mary kate and ashley 3 way would probably kill most.

Ledger is good, really good. He obviously cares about the character much more than Edward Norton did in hulk.

I really thought Norton did a wonderful job in the Hulk. Then again I've been reading hulk comics for 22 years give or take...so as a fanboy he did a great job and captured the classic Banner in my opinion. (note the word opinion) .

Also I should start a new thread for this but the locked up Favreau and Downey for Iron Man 2 officially as of yesterday...thank god.

    Let's bring on the Avengers!!!

That never means anything. If anything it would mean now that they have made a name for Iron Man they know the sequel will make money no matter what and subsequently cheap out on everything they can. It's good to see Marvel is taking care of their franchise movies.

Also the Dark KNight kicks ass, but the end was sort of a clunker for me. Too much in one movie.

Great flick. I took my 5 year old daughter to it and the Joker made her cry. Fucking baby!

I saw it the other night. I thought Ledger was excellent as the Joker (and not just because he's dead.) I think I know what Schmed means about the above comment. I felt the same way about Spidey 3. I won't say more, lest I drop a spoiler on you.

These new, darker Batman movies (Batman Begins & Dark Knight) are so much better than the Tim Burton et al offerings of the 90's(?). They are less "comic book" and more "graphic novel" if you get my meaning.

I had little harder time buying into Maggie Gyllenhaal being a HPOA, but Ledger was eery as the Joker. Of course, I thought it was a bit over the top when he cornholed one of his henchman on the mountain but I guess he's was being type-cast then.

I saw this over the weekend and liked it too. The spidey 3 reference is fitting. Though you knew it was coming, they could have saved it to the next movie. I think Tiny Listen being type cast as a prisoner all the time is very offensive. :)

The magic trick was phenomenal. I like the idea of the joker being a dark and sinister character is a lot better than the wise cracking goofball of before.

This is; hands down; the best movie I have seen. I'm talking lifetime here. Superior acting from the entire cast (even ugly ass Maggie) really gives it long time staying power.

With that said, Heath Ledger's Joker is not the Joker I know from the comic books. While he has the Joker's dark side pretty well defined, the insane side of him is a bit lacking. The "goof-ball" antics Jack Nicholson displayed are more in tune with the comic book Joker.

Anyone interested in exploring the character known as the Joker should read "The Killing Joke"; A graphic novel written in 1988 that really captured the insane and often psychotic nature of this unknown antagonist and what drove his mind to this form of "Super Sanity". It ain't for kiddies.

And someone gets shot in the spine!!! What more could you want out of a comic. Also it's written by Grant Morrison, a must read for any Bat-Man/Joker fan.

Finally saw it a couple nights ago. I was literally blown away - fucking fantastic movie.

Only gripe of mine is that whomever it is playing Batman sounds like he's trying 'too hard' to put the gravel in his throat when he talks.

The Joker was phenomenal. Hope he gets a cameo in the next movie. Hell, it could happen! Maybe a few outtakes, or leftover screen test footage?!?
