Well, I don't know what he did wrong with the glassblowing, but I do know that he shouldn't have worn that gay ass jacket.

What the fuck was he trying to accomplish?

I think when he put the flame against the glass part of it extinguished allowing the flammable gas to build up in the jug until it ignited under the flame and exploded.

Well, I guess if that was the answer to Lomo's question he must have accomplished it.

This wasn't the answer to my question, and I have to remind Dan that if he wants to also pretend to be a Physics major, then he'd best do a little more research before responding to this kind of post.

Let's examine the reply, shall we?

    "...the flame...extinguished..."

    and then!

    "...ignited under the flame..."

Tell me, how is an 'extinguished flame' supposed to exist to ignite something else?

All kidding aside, you've got the basic idea down, but your method of conveying it is piss-poor, at best. I pity your patients when it comes time to explain their ailments, and their causes.

When combustion occurs, obviously, it releases pressure. The pressure inside the glass moonshine jug was in excess of the tolerance of the glass. My actual question was not 'how did this happen?' - rather, "what was he trying to accomplish?"

Was he trying to melt the glass from within the jug itself?

I mean, fuck... anyone with a basic understanding of physics wouldn't have starred in this video, unless they were expecting the *obvious* result...

Again, I ask... What the hell was this moron trying to do?

It was the answer to your question when you stated you didn't know what he did wrong. I don't usually bother to answer "Lomo's" questions as a general rule.

I got an A in physics I and II (I enjoyed physics) and I said part of the flame extinguished not the entire flame. Physics is not hard at least the two main introductory courses. Neither is Chem I and II and Organic Chem I and II.

To get an A in these classes all you need to do is take them with a lighter load of other classes or a few bunny classes like marine biology.

...missed that "part of the flame" portion. I fully retract my previous snide remarks.

You're still an asshole, though. :)

That's probably best... When I ever need to ask you something serious, I'll send a team of cohorts to beat it out of ya. :)
