Place is a fucking ghost town on Sundays. It's been like this for 4 years. So how the hell do they stay open when Jewel, Meijer and much better grocery stores around.
I did a wiki on it, prodominately Chicago based. Although, it still bewilders me that a store with such low traffic can stay in buisness. Some people think the store sells drugs, but thats a tad far fetched.
It's not uncommon for a large-scale dealer (individual) to stage a business as a means for 'legally' documenting funds acquired from illicit dealings. Of course, taxes would be levied, but for someone to go to that lengths, they must be seriously raking in the dough (enough to the point of becoming a blip on the S.E.C. radar.) I doubt the store itself sells drugs, but the owner could be 'supplementing' income generated by the store through his own private transactions.
I think Lomo is right, the place might be 'mob deep'. Especially being in Chicago. Or the owners need some 'losses' for tax purposes. You would be amazed at how much of a tax shelter a bad business can be.
