Awesome movie pay attention and watch. Don’t ask many questions about the movie details it may ruin the experience. I think of ways to describe it and decide better not just watch it. There are other movies in the same style let me know what you think.
It did in a lot of ways was hard to watch. Except to over all big picture is what intrigued me. It was a frustration I was willing to endure and I thought the director did a good job in that respect putting you in the perspective of the person with the problem. I like a movie that gives me a different perspective that I can relate to and is believable. I'm a cynical movie watcher and my pet peeve are the movies that are entirely bullshit and totally unbelievable. But yes making it through the movie to the end was an act of frustration. Like getting on a ride at an amusement park and wishing it would finish but being glad you went on it. As opposed to being lured in by curiosity to see the freak show and being entirely disappointed that you wasted your 5 bucks.
The idea was so unoriginal. The asshole who wrote it probably got the idea from watching the Seinfeld episode, "The Betrayal". And if I remember correctly, they used a lot of shitty cinemaphotography to hide the fact that it sucks. Session 9 is a much better movie.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0261983/ Ah yes! The mental hospital and the asbestos crew. I caught a glimpse of it and turned away it looked like a good flick and I wanted to catch it from the beginning. I do want to see it in its entirety. Now although the techniques were different I would put it sort of in the same style with the odd perspective and slow read between the lines sort of pull you into it kinda mood. Yeah it sucked me in for about 20 min I was glued to the tv but I decided it looked good but I wanted to catch it from the start.
I recently watched a cool little film called The Jacket, which is a bit similar to Butterfly Effect, I recommend it if you like the strange psychological type stuff. The film you are refering to is actually called Memento, and there are 2 versions, 1 forward version and 1 reverse (original) which I think is the best.
the thread title is mOmento, this film is actually called mEmento... Note the E and O, i was just trying clear up for any confused people, primarily me. Which versions have you watched, forward or backward? Ive seen the backward version and liked the film in general.
The one I watched was scenes played in backward sequence. Well done I thought hard to follow making you feel similar to the way the main character must feel. Then of course a quick fast play of the whole thing in true perspective in the end. The scenes all chopped up somewhat like that movie with Samuel Jackson .... ah Jackie Brown?
I didn't even notice... And, until this thread, I didn't know there ever was a 'forward' version of the movie... Seems like it would kind of defeat the purpose, wouldn't it? And I don't care what Nauseous says... The movie's great.
yes, the cut up and reversed one does makes it more like the guys condition, which is why i liked it. the standard one was an easter egg on the dvd, i guess it was made for people who couldnt follow the other so well. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0209144/alternateversions
I didn't know either. Well, you liked Requiem, so I know our tastes differ. What is GNFOS? Yes, do it. Don't let David Caruso ruin in for you. I almost didn't watch it because of him. It's a good movie.
Requiem for a Dream is awesome, and it has the hottie Jennifer Connelly in it too,i'm telling you.. she'd get one
I don't get why anyone would think she's attractive. She has a really long man-face and bushy man brows.
