    Robots for peace?

The world is looking more like a Hollywood movie by the day!

"Dammit. Can't we just taser the silly, compliant bitch anyway?"

I knew this was coming, I had a similar vision based off the loader from the film Aliens. Mechs are the future.. if we have one.

    HELL YEAH!

Oh look! They'll be able to give you a brain too...

That was two years ago. This one is recent:

Pentagon to implant microchips in soldiers' brains.

The sum of the square roots of any two sides of an isosceles triangle is equal to the square root of the remaining side. Oh joy! Rapture! I got a brain! How can I ever thank you enough? -Scarecrow

    Bye the way, thats incorrect.

Robots are useless in the face of an EMP though. Nothing can replace the common grunt

They say detonating an atomic bomb above an area high in the atmosphere will cause a massive EMP that will take out all electronic devices that are not protected below the blast area.

fair point but don't you think that by the time this kind of tech is used on the field there will be EMP shields and such like. also it annoys me when people portray humanoid robots there are hundreds of designs/shapes more affective to take down a human I reckon (maybe a design comp most effective killing machine!!)

    just a thought

Yeah well I think this was about robotic suits worn by soldiers.

Yes, Michael Faraday built one in 1836. An EMP would affect solid state equipment. Most older tube type ham radios would probably be OK. I would be more worried about the fallout and other effects than the actual EMP.

fairnuff. funny thought can you imagine how dangerous a robot suit could be to wear considering all the technical problems that can occur

is that the same Michael Faraday that discovered the faraday cage (cage that redirects electricity around the body)? and yeah but i'm sure a fallout protection asspect to the suite aint that advanced to amagine
