I haven't even looked, but by chance, do you have a link to an actual DVD rip of "The Office" (seasons 2 and 3)? I downloaded several seasons of the muppet show a while back, claiming to be 'DVD rips' - but the video quality was horrible, and it bore the watermark of a TV station in the bottom corner...
Your opinion is noted. Thank you for participating. And, Dwayne, thanks. How's the video quality on them? I know the show is recorded in HD, and the DVD I have of season 1 is far superior, video-wise, to the (single layer) DVD copy of the same disc. This show is fucking brilliant, btw. Everybody ignore and chastise Mosaic for saying otherwise...
I think The Office is one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. Grim is right though, if you have never worked in a place like that it's hard to get. Anyone who has ever worked in an 'office' like that though has to think it's hysterical, or terrifying. One of those.
Personally, I've never worked in an 'office' (Hell, I'm almost thirty, and I've only had three jobs so far) - but I've worked with people before, and I think that's where the show draws it's humor from. It's not so much the setting, but the interpersonal relationships between the characters, and the 'identification factor' (I.E. "I know someone like that!"), that give this show it's edge. Not to say that other shows don't draw upon the same formula, because they all do... It's just that this one does it so well. The show is a fucking work of art, and I stand behind that, office job or not.
well the original british one ran for only 12 episodes (2 seasons) plus the xmas specials.. so i'm assuming he's referring to the crappy 'remake'.. and they were ok (the british ones) but the 'cringe humour' which is all they were really.. got a bit stale.. despite the clamour for more he was right to end it there.. and i think ricky gervais, for all the bullshit of him being some comedy genius, only really has one routine. "look at me, i'm fat.." "ohmigod can you believe he just said that" (after he takes piss out of disabled/black/whatever)
Totaly agree Pimp.I loved the office but not coz of him.Ricky Gervais is an up his own arse wanker, his other thing "Extras" was just a show full of celebrities wanting to look trendy by appearing on a "fashionable" show. All they did was made themselves look like cunts. As for his standup about animals and shit..well that was a load of old bollox..fat fuck needs to get some better stuff..can't believe that cunt won awards.
I'll choose "Crappy US remake" for a thousand... I can't help it that there's such a thing as 'localized humor' (or 'humour,' as you might spell it...) Yes, I still stand behind my stance. The Office (US version) is a work of art. As is Family Guy, Robot Chicken, and Aqua Teen.
