Major posted something recently about seatbelts, but I can't find it. Anyway, another kid died here last night because he didn't have a seat belt on. There were four kids in the SUV, they were on the road in front of the High School which is dead straight, and has little traffic. Somehow they flipped the SUV, and it threw him out and landed on him.

It just makes me feel sick at my stomach. A simple seat belt and a kid is still alive.

My daughter snaps hers behind her back all the time. I can't get her to wear it consistently for anything. She had a bad T-bone wreck back in March, and was thrown from the drivers seat into the passengers floorboard. She didn't get hurt by a miracle. Why in the heck do you have to get old before you have any sense of safety?

I taled to a person today that still has PTSD from a car landing on her when she was 17. The muffller burned all the way through to her vital organs. She was pinned for 30 minutes under the car, and was conscious most of the time. She has no idea how she survived.

I have no problems with seat belts. I have a problem with the seat belt law in Arkansas. About 10 years back it was mandatory that you wore a helmet to ride a Motorcycle.

Well the little biker bitches whined and the law was appealed saying they should have a choice to wear a helmet or not that the state had no right to tell them what to do.

Well why the fuck do I have to wear a seat belt then? I mean it should be the same fucking thing.

A seat belt keeps a driver in front of the wheel in the event of an accident. It would be a legitimate argument that seatbelts save the lives of other people by helping a person maintain control of their vehicle after an impact.

A helmet only protects the wearer. It could be argued then that mandatory helmet laws are an infringement in personal rights because they only affect the wearer. A seatbelt law is not an infringement, because it's purpose is to protect others as well as the wearer.

I thought this thread was about Scott Baio. I saw that instead of seat belts. I wear mine but it rubs my neck. I tried to pull the airbag fuse though. I don't care for those things much at all.

I just drove by the place where the kid was killed last night. About 15-20 of his friends are all sitting out in the street, crying and placing flowers and things on the place he was killed. It happened about a mile from my house, and there is a steady stream of people stopping with flowers.

They say he was drinking, going only about 35 mph, and lost control in the turn. The truck flipped onto the drivers side, and pinned him between the door and ground.

I hope whoever sold the 17 year old kid the alcohol is forced to attend the funeral.
