My new car is a 2005 Grand Cherokee limited with only 40,000 on it and spotless and could pass for brand new. It's supposed to have a great engine and has all kinds of features like navigation system and so forth. It looks just like this one but is black. http://www.forbes.com/2005/01/31/cz_sk_0131test_ls.html
I hope you got a good deal on it. Grand Cherokees are good vehicles, they just dont hold their resell value down here anyways. I was looking at buying an 02 with 80k miles for 3500, just to go to work in, but I went instead with the 93 Civic and it's 40+ MPG BOW CHICKA WOW WOW I guess in KY they are probably worth more, since it snows up there on occasion and what not.
I got it for 20,000 it went for 40 something new. My old car was a black 2004 grand cherokee limited and it had 178,000 miles on it. When I bought it, it had 80,000 on it. I am on call all the time so he just went and picked it out when my old jeep broke down. The old one drove real well without many problems for a long time. It had the V-8 5.2 liter so it held up pretty well. This new one is supposed to have a really powerful engine as well. He's put 10,000 down on it and told me just to pay him back after residency with no interest. So, really, I didn't even pick it out but, I'm not complaining. He offered to do that because I am in the process of buying a 150,000 dollar house and have to make the payments on it with a salary of about 45,000.
This is the house I am going to buy. We set the price but no contract yet. I am still working on getting the mortgage. The guy just put a new roof on it and some new flooring but it is still kind of rough around the edges in some places. The kitchen is new and came with the metal refrigerator and microwave and stove and built in dishwasher. It has 2 big rooms, 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and a real big back yard. One of the big rooms let's in a lot of light with a big bay window but the other doesn't have any windows so I figure I will use it for a tv room. The room kind of makes the tv set look small though so if I ever get the money up I will have to buy a big screen. The guy still hasn't pulled his van out of there. He is supposed to fix up some more things. I am just taking up one bedroom and there it doesn't have any fruniture but I am hoping to resell it for more in four years as the real estate market is kind of depressed in Lexington, Ky where I am doing my residency. It is pretty close to the football giant UK and the fabled commonwealth football stadium. I guess if I want to pace around the house it gives me some room to do it. The pictures suck as they came from my cell phone. front: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v652/Onlinepictures/Image022-1.jpg?t=1184334596 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v652/Onlinepictures/Image021-1.jpg?t=1184334890 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v652/Onlinepictures/Image022.jpg?t=1184334930 kitchen: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v652/Onlinepictures/Image011.jpg?t=1184335019 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v652/Onlinepictures/Image010.jpg?t=1184335044 room with no windows for tv: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v652/Onlinepictures/Image009.jpg?t=1184335065 back yard: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v652/Onlinepictures/Image006.jpg?t=1184335087 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v652/Onlinepictures/Image013.jpg?t=1184335119
you'll be able to do it. we somehow just bought a $160K house and i can tell you, on paper it looks like i bring *nothing* home. somehow you just make it. good house. love the walkway and the tree in the front. that window seat is great. congratulations!
I think I saw that van in the movie Cobra, you better make sure there are no dead bodies in it. That's not your van is it??? Just make sure that you do the whole purchase pending inspection, ask for them to pay closing costs, and to keep whatever in the house you like, and usually offer 2-3k less depending on how long it has been on the market. Unless it is just a steal of a deal, they should counter with something. I have been suprised before in the past with some of the counter offers you can get back.
Nice house and car Dan. You have worked hard enough to deserve it I would think. Oh, and welcome to the world of car notes and mortgages. A wife and baby are next. Then you can be as miserable as the rest of us.
I was thinking the same thing. Why does this guy have some child molester van hidden in his back yard behind a privacy fence?
Maybe he would throw it in with the house. That would save you from having to tint the windows on your new Jeep Cherokee.

Stop griping. You got your very own game room away from the wife. What more could you want? BTW - the yard looks nice. You are taking nicely to being a full time yard boy. Bugs went for a swim in your Pool today, and got snubbed by the "gated community" snobbery. Think you might have a talk with them at the next garden club meeting? Oh, and the Indian mound next door is scheduled for demolition. Sorry.
Thanks. That could easily be a full time job. I sold my rider and bought a self-propelled push mower. Does a much better job. I hate that but I don't consort with the snobbery. Plus, as a plot owner, you have just as much a right to be there as the stand-making-non-dues-paying residents of the Austins. Whatever.
