The Caliber is funky looking but gets great gas mileage. I've been checking into that one myself. My wife wants a Murano. If she gets that, we trade in the van and I get her 16 MPG Yukon.

The Charger is very roomy, and if you get the Hemi, with MDS, the mileage isnt too bad, I believe it's in the 20s. My non-MDS Hemi Ram gets 13. Uphill, downhill, AC on, AC off. It is consistent....

I have been pretty happy with my Dodges, Ive only owned 6 Rams....I havent purchased any cars, the last car choice was the wifes, and it was a Hemi Charger or the G35. She went with the G35 cause she said the Charger was too big. I personally liked the charger better. I also believed she thought she was going to better MPG in the Infiniti but nope, it sucks in that too....

Your hatred for the Aztek makes sense considering that you drive a Dodge Ram.

    YES YES YES

    8)

I dont hate the Aztec, I try not to hate anything. It may not be for me. So if it is what you want, by all means, "GET IT GIRL".

I didnt like the way they changed the Rams in 02, and didnt get my first '3rd gen' ram till 04. I was stuck with the 94-01 body style, then I eventually grew to like the 02-06 (they kinda changed em in 07) styling. The Aztec you pictured looks better than the plastic trimmed maroon one my uncle has. So they are working on it. Kind of like the avalanche when it had all the plastic on it and they slowly removed because people told them how cheezy it looked.

Your uncle has a 2001. I guarantee it.

Well, the Dodge Stealth is my all-time fave looking sporty car, but I think Nissan or Toyota makes a better looking pickup (now, not 10+ years ago).

I like the Titan, when it first came out I almost got one, lots of room, decent power, and crazy storage. Unfortunately the brakes are too small and the rear-end(axle) is crap. I pull an 8000lb camper, and that wouldnt stop me and would hold up to the stresses of pulling for long. The Tundra was good looking on tV to me, till I saw it up close. It looks kind of swole up. Like it's a puffer fish that someone made mad. If I get anything other than a dodge, it's going to be a Ford, F-250.

I looked at a bunch of shit last weekend. Stuff I wouldn't get and the Toyota did look a little weird up close. I also saw the inside of a PT Cruiser. that car is ugly inside and out.

My boyfriend wants me to get a Rav4. I think the new ones are ugly, but not terribly priced for a new SUV. Still outta my league.

It might sound funny, but I have heard good things about the Hyundai SUV. It looks a lot like the BMW and is pretty inexpensive comparitivley speaking. Also with a 10/1oo,000 mile warranty it cant be all bad.

New SUV prices are still high, even as everyone bitches about gas prices.

Hyundai's come a long way in the last few years. They, and the Hyundai-owned Kia did rather well on the JD Power quality tests again this year.

I believe both have an excellent warranty also.

Asian made cars are superior to American generally speaking.

    Fucking unions!

Yep, the unions make the prices go up and the quality go down as the companies try to cut cost to stay afloat. I like my truck, but I have Hondas to drive to work. Of course I sold my 300k+ mile accord, that still ran and drove fine, the power windows worked, and the power sunroof worked and didnt leak. I had a 285k accord, and my last one was only at 203 when I sold it.

I looked at the Hyundai Santa Fe a few days ago and it's doesn't look bad. This model was about $23K with decent (for an SUV) mileage. My concern was what the trade-in value would be a few years down the road. How well do they hold value? These things are made in Alabama; surely there is that stigma to consider.

I think for the amount you save in initial purchase, and how long you keep the vehicle, may have an impact. 23k isnt much for an SUV, I think the Escape is higher than that modestly equipped. If you keep it 5-6 years and sell if for anything you have a bonus. Just plan on it being gone in 5. If your payment is 350 a month and you pay it off in 5 years, and it has a 10 year warranty, anything over 5 is gravy. You can always sell it for 2k down the road. its not going to be worth 12-15k, but you have to think what you got for the money.

A new yukon is how much? What is it going to be worth in 5 years? It may be more than the Hyundai, but think of how much the initial hit was, in augusta, a new Yukon, non-denali, is 50,425(high) and 36,035(cheapest) now in 12 years it may still be worth 12-15k but it came down 35k to 15k depending on which one was purchased.

Id take the Hyundai. And get a boat!

Here is a quick breakdown on why I sell my hondas....

    1989 Civic LX Cost = 0
motor, clutch, cv axles, tires and tint (I did it) =1000.00
    Sold for 1800.00

1991 Honda Accord EX Cost 800.00
Timing Belt, Water Pump, Window Regulator = 300 (w/317k on the non-working odometer)
    Sold for 2200

1993 Honda Accord LX cost 400.00
Distributor = 200 (with cap and button and all)
Sold for 2500 and a truck (long story)

    1992 Honda Accord DX cost = 800.00
    CD PLayer = 80.00 (wal-mart)
    Sold for 2000.00

I am in a funk now though, my wife got me a 88 Prelude Si, 400.00 in great shape, needs a motor, I cant find a decent 2.0 anywhere near here, so I am going to by another honda, strip this one and call the junkyard to come get it.

A honda will run forever if you change the oil in it. We have a 86 four trax 125, that was sunk in a pond that my kids ride like they stole it.

So you are like a Honda flipper?

My boyfriend has a Honda Passport and I really like it. I don't care for their late model cars much. I think it wasn't until 2006 or 2007 that Honda decided to make the interior look modern. The inside of those cars were stuck in a time warp!

And the 2003 Civic looks a lot like a 1988 Tempo.

oh, man... i haven't worked under the hood of a car since i got married. i used to change the oil, change - do everything myself and it was great! you should have seen the look on my face when i had to attempt to explain to my husband (who has many gifts, but mechanics, not so much) that you don't have to press the gas to start a fuel-injected car. and then came the conversation about cars being 'things' or 'driving experiences'. of course it took me forever to figure out the difference between a bass and a guitar, so...

I wouldnt say I'm a flipper, but I just come across good deals and make the most of them, selling a Honda aint exactly like trying to sell condoms to the pope. For some reason an accord with an automatic transmission is a dream car to some. Plus the fact that you can easily put 300k on one and still get 40mpg and cold ac is something to relish.

I enjoy working on them too, it's like my zen time.

Where are you located, anyway? I think my dad still has his old '81 Accord 5-speed hatchback... I forget what's wrong with it, but he wants to get rid of it, probably for next to nothing, too.

Im in Georgia, well Jawja if you are in the south, if it has AC I may be interested in it. If it doesnt have AC it's like trying to sell suntan lotion to people stranded in desert.

I actually sold my 88 prelude this morning. So I will be on the hunt again this week.....I am thinking I need a 2fast Civic, that way I can sell it to some punk high schooler for way too much money....damn rich kids....
