we're going to see them tomorrow in new orleans. sumner's kid's band is supposed to be opening up for them.. fiction plane i think it's called. just what i need.. my husband jacking off to seeing the police again and sting's kid jacking off to playing with his dad.
How warm fuzzy and sticky all at the same time. I understand The police was one of those bands though that sounded good live as well as in a studio. Who knows Better that going on a trail ride in the rain like I did this past weekend.
yeah, and according to hubby who's been pouring over the rolling stone issue regarding this little phenomena, they're just as good and just as punky.... 30 years later. guess that means gray hair, bulge and not as much angst? interested to see what type of rock show that makes. the best part will be ralph and kacuu's before the show and begniets after the show! woo hoo!
we decided to take the old hwy 90 route because from bay st louis that's faster than going 10. also, we wanted to try to avoid some of the destruction that makes me freak out so much. so my brilliant sister takes me this other way and i swear there were still dead bodies everywhere. very little has been done along that stretch - people still waiting for their insurance to pay up, nearly two years later. it's infuriating. there was a gutted house with a tent in it, people still living in tents and it's fucking hot as hell right now. anyway we get to NO and don't make it to r&c but to the gumbo shop instead. get to the concert which was at the arena next to the dome. there's a medical center right next door to it and i'm telling you, probably 7/10 of the windows on the upper floors are still busted out, some of them boarded up but most of them busted out from the storm - TWO YEARS LATER. so we're inside and in our seats and i start looking around at what pilice fans look like 30 years later. ive got to tell you, i was surrounded by the oldest, whitest, black sock and white shoe wearing people i've seen in a long long time. and then they started drinking. fiction plane did open the show. we were impressed that the whole show was run like a very tight ship. FP actually started 10 minutes early and played 40 minutes exactly. and i am going to be the first to admit that i totally misjudged this band. not sure i wouldve liked them as a 4 piece, but as a 3, they were great. they put on a good show, they worked hard and the music was good. it was a great precursor to TP. TP- again they put on a good show, and with the exception of a lot of the songs being tuned down a 5th and keys being different all over the place because a certain bloke doesn't have that range in his voice anymore, it was pretty much like the old days. except he was way more respectful of the other people on stage. stewart looked very much like he was having the time of his life. and he played great. totally doesn't have the rockstar look at all, but he played great and i've got to tell you that was the biggest gong i've ever seen in my life. andy plays better than ever - also missing that 'look' but hey, not everyone has more money than god like stingaroo so... andy had some solos that would melt the skin right off of your face, and forget about the amps being turned up to 11, andy's was more at about 87. it was loud and great. they played 90 minutes exactly, had 3 encores and that was it. they played the stalker songs, the whore/stalker song, the dinosaur song, the moon song, the teacher fucking the student song and my favorites: so lonely and can't stand losing you. although the last two were changed up a little and it was hard to sing along. all in all, it was MUCH better than i thought. we had a great time, and the beignets at cafe du monde were amazing at 1am.
AND his wife is really ugly. The plastic surgery ain't helping... and it's not very good for the rainforest. Shame on you, Sting!
yeah, and that sense of entitlement, how he behaves as if he is so almighty is revolting.. oh, but wait.. he's english.
It seems you've only got to breath near Improtected to hit a nerve through her semi-translucent, papery thin skin. Sorry i don't like the wanky, mediocre shite music (or the obnoxious, cooing cock-troll known as 'Sting' who fronts it) for pseudish, middle-aged couples who like to think they're being a bit alternative and daring from within their bland, middle of the road existences, but there's no need to get personal about it! P.S. I'm sure any English people in the forum will be most incensed by your remark.
i don't know, at least bono is trying to make a difference and help things. although, the same might be said for king sting as well, with that 9/12 concert that he did at his stingdom in tuscany. i would've loved to see u2 on the rattle & hum tour.
I was wondering the same thing myself, actually. My conclusion is that they (and Nob Jerkoff) are all equally worthy of contempt. They are a bunch of hypocritical, smug, super-egos whose musical talents come nowhere close to living up to all the hype that has been generated about them.
