I noticed recently that Sierra Nevada (another California brewery) has moved from twist-off caps to pop-top caps.

I know that in any home-brew book they always recommend a bottle-capper (here's the one I have) and to seal the bottles as tightly as possible.

Does anyone know of any good reason why a company like Sierra Nevada would have used twist offs for so long? Is that a cheaper method of bottling?
