The problem is that demand for the dollar is declining because we're printing the shit out of it to pay for our American Way of Life. Our country is addicted to spending. We have an economy that is 70% service based. We can't afford to pay for our two major wars, people's retirement, social security, the nice thing we want to have as well as bail out all these major businesses. We "need" to bail them out though because if they tank the repercussions would start the collapse immediately. The only way to postpone it is to print more money which only ensures that when we crash we crash absolutely.

Guess what? Nobody, not even the Republican Party Joe, can do anything to stop it. Nobody would have been able to stop it, either. The system was doomed to failure the moment it was created just as a car is doomed to the junkyard the moment it comes off the production line. We are at the end of the 70 year long super-bubble with the US Dollar as the world's reserve currency and it's a sad sight indeed. Our money will soon be worth nothing as foreign nations stop trading with it and dump it all. It sucks that we have to live through it but that's just the way it is.

Let us focus on the good times we had, instead, and look to the future to see what we will do in the next phase of our country's history. Personally I'm staying away from the cities and battening the hatches to ride this storm out. It's gonna be a doozy.

Oh, and you're ideas are stupid Joe. There's an ounce of truth to them but they don't step back and look at the big picture.

Now is that the way we have a civil discussion here?

You are largely correct but a day late and a dollar short. It was the fad to complain about spending during Bush not Obama. Look around no one is listening or paying attention.

Amazing isn't it how isolated and protected the Socialist are huh?

And as Smurf slowly turns Republican Harry Reid slowly looses his grip on reality thinking now that all Mexicans are subordinate tenets on the Democratic plantation. He thinks all you Mexicans are like the Blacks saying

    RASMUSSEN TODAY... DEVELOPING...
Obama Approval Index: -22 (Matches all-time low for this president)
    Strongly Approve 24%
Strongly Disapprove 46% (Matches highest for this president)
    Total Approval 43%

[Note: Media coverage of Obama has improved significantly over past week as his approval ratings have slipped... While 43% of voters approve, 55% of media coverage has been positive.]

JUST THINK ITS ONLY A FEW MORE YEARS HOW LOW WILL IT GO!

Yahoo is trying to do what it can to help. Imagine if Bush's employment number were above 9% for a year would he be reading shit like this?

Oh and they found a glitch in the job numbers from last qtr. unemployment is worse than previously reported.

    Idiots do not even know.

    Dow drops 265

This is all George Bush's fault we need to "change" right?

After finding out that last qtr they lied about the unemployment numbers. Now we find out they lied about the GDP also.

Those damn George Bush policies are still killing us. I guess we never did "change" yet.

But it's ok because we can all just get Fed jobs right? and our paychecks will be guaranteed by good ole tax revenues. ...... How much tax do unemployed people pay anyways?

Of course, Joe! Every scholar knows the only way to act when you're broke is to spend more money! It always works!

Besides, we can always have China bail us out! (some more?)

Your right you know the irony here is that its really not China but just the opposite it's Hong Kong. You are right though since the Brits allowed China to absorb Hong Kong back.

I can remember being in High School, around 1-2AM, CST - picking up on shortwave radio "The Voice of Free China" - broadcast from Taipei, Taiwan. This was before HK was re-assimilated - and it was a concern of theirs back then.

I tried to keep up with it, but moving to a major metropolitan area limited my SW reception, despite being near the highest point of elevation in the county. Too much interference.

Funny side-story, I remember one night when they had an interview with the Playboy guy for Asia - apparently, a full-fledged, licensed subsidiary of Hef's vast empire...

Wow that is pretty cool my dad was a ham radio guy used to run elaborate antennas on cables in the trees to get better reception. never had a big tower antenna but he talked to people all over. HK big success story. China just another third world country given all the manufacturing jobs the rest of the world that does not care to do.

I've been wanting to install antennas in my roof for a few years now... Only problem, whenever I remember my plans, it's during the hottest stretch of the year.

Which, coincidentally, happens to be most of the year.

I just saw something on Fox news about China becoming the world's second largest economy. Surpassing Japan.

You know its our own damn fault for buying so much cheap shit from them. What do we have that we could export to China? Any thoughts guys?

Haha! I like the Aids idea!

Anyway remember my solution for the Mexico problem its a real legit solution. Open manufacturing plants in Mexico for all sorts of stuff we can have made for just as cheap with even cheaper logistics since they border us. Build them up they are our neighbor. If they had better living conditions they would not care to illegally come here. Mexico as a country is not hostile to the US. China however is. Think about it.

(Edit: The jobs idea, that is...)

The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. Cliché, sure, but it's also more true than at any time since the Gilded Age.

While politicians gloat about our "recovery," our poor are getting poorer, our average wages are still falling behind inflation, and social mobility is at an all-time low.

But, yes, if you're in that top 1%, life in America is grand.
