A question FOr DangerousDan

    My doctor has put me on Vistaril , for Migraine headache treatment, along with Midrin. any thoughts?

    You're not supposed to drink and take acetominophen and midrin has acetominphen in it. When one of the enzymes in the liver is busy breaking down the alcohol it can't break down the acetominphen which results in another pathway breaking it down into a toxic metabolite that can blow out your liver or just cause liver damage.

    I don't know much about migraines yet. Emedicine is a good overall source for reading about medical conditions on the internet. Some of the articles are written by Doctor's for Doctor's and some are written geared toward patients. Both are pretty easy to understand anyway. All you need to do is a search of the web using keywords like migraine headaches and emedicine or whatever and emedicine.

    I didn't see any adverse drug interactions between those two drugs when I did a search on them.
