Going through my old cds and remembering.

    Whitesnake because they rocked.

    GnR

Ratt oh never mind shit that belongs in the guilty pleasure thread

Van Halen before it was Van Hagen

Sammy when he was the "Red Rocker"

Ozzy Tribute to Randy Rhodes got the tape however it is indiscernable all sticky covered in dried Coke (cola) Anyone got that album on MP3? Damn it I want it back.

    Dio

    The Firm

    ZZTop

    Motley Crue

Just a few I listened to a lot of clastic shit in the 80's
Wish I had a pic of my Camaro exceptional car typical Houston area stickers in the windshield.
    97 Rock! , 101FM , Q107 Classic Rock

Ha! I looked up the channel list and the only one to survice from my era was 104 KRBE (bubble gum shit)

Guess I was more into the New Wave shit. I think 80's hair rock sucked and I still can't stand 99.9% of it.

Ah yes the 80's bubble gum rock crowd.

And those mysterious new wave people.

I listened to some of the stuff from time to time. It's all good but there were some weirdo's. Most people said I was a biggot for calling Mike Jackson a fag then also. Said I just did not like him cause he was black.

Never mind that I liked Living Colour.

They came to Auburn when I was a student there. I saw the poster and blew it off because I thought they were a reggae band. I was sorry I missed it when I finally heard their CD.

Wasn't there another black metal band around that time? I can't think of their name.

Ice T's Body Count? Fishbone wasn't metal but they were funky.

    Haha! Got ya.

Just pick a Rick James song from the 80's like Super Freak and switch to a new tune. Rick was one cool brotha.

Pardon my ignorance but who was it sang "You dropped the bomb on me"?

For some reason I said Rick James and that song jumped in my head but I don't think it was him.

    Re: Wicked Wisdom

I'm not big on the goth deal but she seems pretty good.

You got to admire her for being brave enough to escape from the plantation.

The "Cult od Personality" she is supposed to follow.

The Gap Band. I fucking hate that song. I remember working at this bar in a hotel about a decade ago watching old people get drunk and grope each other to that song.

    You crack me up.

That was a some in the 80's we always had proceeding a basket ball game in high school. And it was decently cool. I mean hell you liked all that weird shit. I can imagine Depech Mode, Flock of Seagulls, Culture Club, Duran Duran.

Hey there was a lot of cool shit though. Like Men at Work. 80s was not explicitly just "hair" rock. I just cannot for the life of me think of the names. Weird longs like "Here in my car" That would just so happen to come on the radio after you just smoked a big fat hooter so your sitting there (in your car)and thinking "Yeah I can relate to this"

You are talking about Gary Numan "Cars". I love that song. It used to be my ringtone.

That is a pretty cool video. I never watch the videos anymore but those are the type I like where they seem to have gone to a great deal of effort artistically. There is a fine line though. Like for instance Some new breakthrough in video animation comes out and the videos just seem to be a bunch of people looking for an excuse to employ their newly learned talent trying to package a song around a blinky light rather than making a song cool with interesting little blinky lights or what ever fits the mood.

That probably does not make much sense sorry.
