Clear Channel Communications, owner of approx. 1400 radio stations, has compiled this list of songs they haven't actually 'banned' - but discourage radio stations from playing, due to the recent events in the US.

How about the AC/DC song; THIS MEANS WAR (highly recomended tune for any soldier about to go into battle to listen to, full on psych-up music!).

Or maybe they are still playing it to keep the American peoples blood rushing?

    Fuck Clear Channel Communications!!!

UPDATE ON RADIO SHOW CRUELTY CASES: Good news --- following a flood of
letters from readers across the world (including Nauseous), Denver disc jockey
Steven Meade (from KBPI, owned by Clear Channel Communications) was
sentenced on Monday (03/12) for an on-air stunt in which he had a live hen
thrown off a 3rd-story balcony. Judge Alfred
Harrell ordered Meade to attend 24 one-hour counseling sessions for people
convicted of cruelty to animals, to pay $991 in fines and court costs
($400 of which will go to the Animal Protection Fund), and to serve 100
hours of community service to benefit animals. During the sentencing, Mr.
Meade apologized profusely, saying, "It was a dumb prank. Believe me,
there will be nothing on the radio even remotely close to this again."

In a related story, WXTB in Tampa,
Florida (another Clear Channel owned-station), has suspended its DJ "Bubba
the Love Sponge" (aka Todd Clem) after an on-air stunt which involved the
castration and slaughter of a pig in the radio station's parking lot...

And they're fuckin' worried about some songs wrote waaaaayyy before this happened offending people? Fuck that!! Call me a heartless bastard, but some of those songs are just downright funny!! NONE of them could possibly be offensive. Suck it up America!!

    These made me chuckle...

    Drowning Pool "Bodies"
Soundgarden "Blow Up the Outside World"
AC/DC "Safe in New York City"
Judas Priest "Some Heads Are Gonna Roll"
    Pink Floyd "Run Like Hell"
    Jackson Brown "Doctor My Eyes"
    Filter "Hey Man, Nice Shot"
    Chi-Lites "Have You Seen Her"
Temple of the Dog "Say Hello to Heaven"

Britney Spears should go without saying....same as Nina. LOL

But some of those others are head-scratchers one way or another: the ever-controversial Ricky Nelson? Creedence' 'Travelin Band'?? Cat Stevens' 'Peace Train' - what, just his being a Muslim outweighs the positive message of the song? I'm not too confident in the choices made by Clear Channel, but they remain only a single, albeit large, broadcasting org.

On the other hand, some of the titles beg for nomination as theme songs: wouldn't the spectacle of swarms of Apache attack choppers with speakers blaring Martha & the Vandellas' 'Nowhere to Run" at rave volume be so "Apocalypse Now" ?!?

    LOL @ Emetic

No, I don't guess that Frank Sinatra or James Taylor would inspire the same level of panic as Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries."

And when was the last time any of those corporate cocksuckers played "Seek and Destroy" anyway? The only Metallica albums I ever hear on the radio (when I condescend to listen to the radio, that is) are the ones I refuse to buy.
