New plugs , wires, serpentine belt, brakes all around, cleaned out the opti-spark, replaced the broke transmission mount (third one in 10 years) Tightened all the hoses and what not (when the temps change a great deal in the winter this is when you get your leaks). Cleaned up the electrical connections and checked the grounds, all the lights good. Cleaned up the interior. I still need to adjust the air pressure in the tires the big temp swing made a huge difference in my tire pressure. Thinking alright I'm ready for winter. Then what happens? The transmission starts slipping. If I could affords it I'd switch over to a standard. A Z28 should be a standard anyways.
The day before yesterday in Bridgeport TX there was frost. That is oh about 60 miles West of me. Looks like the Trans rebuild with a 1 yr warranty is gonna be 1800.00.
When you have to heat your crawlspace and garage and drip water at night so your pipes don't freeze, I'll believe you guys have winter. I do miss my old rental house during the winter... basement and garage were heated. Basement was warmer than the upstairs because it had the old crank out windows. The curtains would move when the wind blew outside and the windows were shut. Ha.
That reminds me of my first house it was a split level built on a slope the bottom was like a basement and it was the den. It had a sliding glass door at the bottom level and it needed replacing really bad. One winter we were sitting there and snow flakes were blowing in through the crack in between the doors. We relented and replaced the door later that week with a set of well insulated french doors.

Oh, and I'm thinking about adding a 3" body lift to the Rodeo, possibly a suspension lift, and fit it with 33"+ tires. Need to change the timing belt first, though...
