Question:
Should the parents of a newborn be allowed the option of euthanasia for children born with birth defects? This would include serious defects that would either require consistent medical care and/or a condition that would seriously compromise the child's quality of life itself...

"Well, brown eyes ARE a birth defect you know."

I honestly could not understand a person that could kill their own child. Regardless of defects or whatever.

I think the pre-emptive strike would be to spay Paris Hilton before she has a chance to breed.

Such a delima but the answer is really not as hard answer is no.
The fine line is involved with inverviening sometimes to keep a life "alive".
For instance same delima with that movie about the boxing chick directed by Clint Eastwood ... Ah "Million Dollar Baby" ? was that it. If you watched the movie I think you know what I'm talking about.

Here's what I was thinking about when I made the poll... Animals in the wild (even domesticated pets) will abandon an offspring if they're not healthy enough. Humans seem to be the only animals that hold life so sacred that we'll go to great lengths to ensure the survival of every single life, even if the person will require 24-hr care for their entire life, no matter how miserable the individual's existence will be.
Now... I'll be holding a rally later on this month, so bring a Jewish friend!

Animals have survival instinct. Humans have souls?
Besides even if your down and out you can still win the lotto (http://www.wayodd.com/airline-pilot-wins-25000-lottery-jackpot-two-days-in-a-row/v/6423/)
