Yes, but....

You seem a little more rational these days. The joke you made to Dio about "2x zero is still zero" was funny. The ability to have sharp wit and humor is usually associated with high intelligence and mental clarity.

Whatever meds you are on, I suggest you keep taking them.

And as far as some of your stuff you post .....you are not always wrong. You just seem to catastrophize everything. Swing a little more to the middle, and you might not appear so whacky.

You might also want to keep the part about you wanting to have your way with little girls to yourself, although you haven't spouted off about that in a while either. Depo-provera must have kicked in. Good for you.

I would bet my boots that Smurf is newly medicated. Probably Lithium Carbonate, Depakote, or maybe Abilify. Good meds if you need'em.

I predict a religious outbreak soon for Smurf. I think he will become a fanatic and start preaching on the street corners. Not a bad thing mind you, if you keep it rational and real.

I like to take PCP and hang out on street corners and scream "THERE ARE NO TIME OUTS IN THE WORLD OF PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING" at people..

Food for thought Smurf if in case you have a broadband connection as well as plenty of time (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPL1G__N1l0&search=creation)

Since you are interested in Dinosaurs this guy talks for a few hours on Creationism and Dinosaurs. As with all zealous followers of religion view it objectively and open minded it may give you some ideas at least.

Ferine I believe that Jesus is the Messaih, and was God is human flesh. The world would call me a Christian for believing that, but I refuse to accept the title any longer.

The term "Christian" was given by unbelievers in Antioch as a derogatory term. The word "Christian" has become very offensive to me. I see the idiots on TV fleecing innocent people, and they call themselves "Christians." I see people trying to get rich in Jesus' name, and they call themselves "Christians." I see people living double lives, condeming people for the very things they themselves are doing. I don't want to be one of those "Christians."

I love the Lord with everything that I have, and am not the least bit ashamed of it. What shames me is to be lumped in with the despicable hypocrites that call themselves "Christians."

Call me something else.

Thanks Barry. I was actually curious as to your beliefs too, you being scientific of mind and such, but didn't want to intrude.

I'd call you spiritual. Period.

I believe that all of the God's of old got together for a huge party at Buddha's place (fat man usually has a big place to live). They then proceeded to get insanely inebriated and start taking bets with the souls of the humans that followed them over games of scrabble. Should I lay off the paint chips? Or does this make sense?

I don't believe you have to accept Jesus as your savior to go to Heaven, Barry. I believe there are good people out there who never had a chance to hear his name. Do you believe they will go to Hell?

Surprise Smurf - I believe that Hell, whatever that place may be, is reserved for those who willfully and knowingly reject the free offer of grace. I can't image a merciful God sending people to eternal damnation without having the opportunity to accept the greatest gift ever offered.

It's a perplexing question isn't it? One must ask one's self would an all omnipotent, all-knowing god be as weak as to have a loophole a kink in the fabric of his own making that created an imperfect system?

Christians believe in the trinity that one god can exhibit himself in three different forms. God the father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit. These are not really different but called the trinity the same being but in different form.

There are religions that we consider pagan. There are Indian religions for example that would worship the creations of god as if they were god himself in different forms. Could it be possible that in this case they are referring to the same god we would consider the Holy Spirit? If they die without knowledge could they be reincarnated into a life of opportunity to know?

There are religions that believe in reincarnation. Could the difference between good and evil people going to heaven or hell be the idea that people going to hell are just people reincarnated into this world again under more difficult circumstance? Could there be a vicious cycle where persons reincarnated into an easy life of luxury have gone to heaven for a time period however squandered opportunity results in once again a difficult next life?

Personally I try to think outside of the box but with a compass that directs my judgment. What ever ideas someone gives you with regards to spirituality try not to take any human beings words as complete truths. Think for yourself some questions you will never find the answer to. But always be open to think outside mankind’s religious box be that box, Lutheran, Catholic, Baptist, etc. Take your inspirations from guidelines you identify for yourself from your own research The one thing to hold your trust to is your own meditation prayers and readings in the Bible. Good luck in your pursuit Smurf.

By this logic, missionaries and evangelicals the world over are actually DOING HARM TO OTHERS' AFTERLIVES, by even giving heathens the opportunity to reject the "gift".

They'd be better off hiding their beliefs from everyone, exposing no one to the "Word". And then we'd all get in to the VIP room in the sky.

Man, you got a point Chester. The Golden Rule exists in every culture. Confucius speaks of it. Buddhists speak of it. The Bhagavad-Gita speaks of it, and, of course, the Bible speaks of it...To the extent it's honored even a little more, there is an improvement Yes, you can say that's what you believe, but when you start viewing it like you are better than they, that they are excluded, that is when you have strayed from the straight and narrow path.

The mystical branch of Islam, the Sufi movement, insisted that when you had encountered God, you were neither a Jew, a Christian, a Muslim. You were at home equally in a synagogue, a mosque, a temple or a church, because all rightly guided religion comes from God, and a man of God, once he's glimpsed the divine, has left these man-made distinctions behind

This is what we need to show people. But when I'm trying to explain to them, will they listen? Or will they get hung up on the irellevant details. "His birthday is June 6th? The bad things started in 2006? 06/06/06?!?!?!" They are already lost, irrational. Will they put their prejudices behind them, grant me mercy when I ask for it, or will they view killing me as their ticket to salvation?

When the night, has come and the land is dark and the moon is the only light we'll see, no I won't be afraid. Oh I won't, be afraid. Just as long as He stands, stands by me.

If the sky that we look upon should tumble and fall, and the mountain should crumble into the sea I won't cry, I won't cry, no I won't shed a tear. Just as long as He stands, stands by me.

Great song, written by a good man. Remember those words, should anything like that ever happen. Find comfort in knowing that such a good man believed, and none of this seemed like it was going to happen in his time, right?

You know Chester, I had hoped that when I die I could meet Jesus, The tooth fairy, santa claus, The Easter Bunny and all the other colourful characters that I was told about as a child. I was always curious to know why God turned a blind eye to war crimes, genocide, nuclear bombs, the list of Human atrocity against humans is rather extensive but I think you get the point it. God is my favorite fictional character.

Me personally I don't believe in an afterlife, it contradicts the laws of nature and entrophy. I don't have much time or respect for any organized religion or any religion for that matter. I generally just try to live by "Good Thoughts, Good Words, Good Actions" that is enough for me.

I dont know what I am , but i read the bible and find comfort in it. I am in many ways a heathen. And I have studied crypto-zoology, metaphysics, para-psychology and pseudo-history as part of my drive towards my future self. I am a wee bit weak in the Al-chemical department. The totalitarian beliefs i cant handle. I dont know that J was his Only son or not. It sound more like he was the dude and the one with the message. What they made their soup from between HSI death and the meeting in Nicea I just dont know. My first religious experiences were heathen. The god frey ( Joy ) opened the sky one day during easter, and I saw the light. If that frey isa the love of Jesus all the better. I have both heathen and christian ancestors and would like to see them all againj in the afterlife.

The problem with evil in the world that Joe speaks of finds a certain answer in the christian thesis of free will. As an old philosopher put it. We live in the best of all possible worlds.

One can never kill the "Will to be free" I'm certian that in North Korea it is multiple times stronger than here. And rules? It's like there is a three yesar old in the kitchen looking at cookies baking in the oven and you tell him "Don't touch that glass it can hurt you" guess what the kid does? Now to help the kid out you could tie him to a chair and sit him in front of the oven then the urge to touch the glass would actually be greater. I personally still believe that some of the most evil societies are the most restrictive. Quakers during the early colonization period of this country could potentially have been the most evil society this country ever hosted. But that is purely speculation. I think you see the point. Free will will always exsist rationalization can make for prudent decision making if only the world had "joelogic". :)

Do you believe it's a coincidence that we're all alive and conscious right here, right before the end? I call it the end because it's the end of our age, but there will be good things again after it. But here you are, with little to no faith. Good actions are awesome, though.

I heard Isaac Asimov talking about what he felt about religion, stating that he believed that when he died there would be nothing. This didn't make him want to go out and rape and steal because he didn't fear eternal punishment. He thought that it was insulting that there would have to be a system of rewards and punishments to make someone a good person. Couldn't they be good of their own accord?

And he's right. Honestly good people are better men than those who do right only because they want to go to Heaven and don't beat their children because they don't want to go to hell.

But come on, dude. You show contempt for thousands of years of prophecies, predictions, teachings and knowledge? Every major culture around the world says that we have souls, they say that they are the energy in our bodies, the fire that rests in the water. This should have been PROVEN the moment we discovered energy traveling our nerves, creating storms of consciousness in our minds. Are you smarter than humanity, Checkmate? Than all our ancestors?

I'm sure you believe it's all a coincidence; that our world is falling apart, that the climate is rapidly changing, and that we're all alive and thinking right before it happens. In the face of all that, you would have no belief in anything?
The first form is darkness, the second desire, the third ignorance, the fourth is the excitement of death, the fifth is the kingdom of the flesh, the sixth is the foolish wisdom of flesh, the seventh is the wrathful wisdom. These are the seven powers of wrath.
