NOrtons sucks bollocks, and now my subscription is finally up (on my home PC, Windows XP), does anyone have a better, cheaper recommendation?

I used to use AVG but I thought they were making you pay now. Anywho I got a corporate edition of McAfee and have used it for a while now. But when I want to see if it’s missing something I go to Trend Micro or antivirus.com and run the housecall. Also there is Panda both of these are web based and you will see if you pay attention it loads a something into your IE. (I recommend using HijackThis after installing or running web based apps to see what it’s adding to your explorer.) Any questions PM me I'll send you the links and explain.

AVG Free is free. AVG Pro is around $14.50 a year. Which still shits all over Nortons.

yeah, symantac (symantyc, whichever you prefer) products are really virii in themselves. Once installed on your PC, the only way to get rid of it 100% is to do a complete format, and wipe all partitions

Trend-Micro PC-Cillin is a good one. They give you I believe a 14 day trial and it is 19.95 a year for the 'suite' which includes firewall, spamblock, pop-up blocker and the antivirus.

You can probably find a hacked one on any gnutella site.
