There's lot's of static electricity in the air. Anyone else notice that they've been getting shocked a lot more lately? I think it really started going off late last year.

Hey bitch just wondering, I know a few people who've noticed it, too.

I almost always get a shock when I touch any metal part of the door of my car as I'm getting out... oddly enough, I've not been noticing it as much lately...
Either I'm breaking in the car, or there's foul work afoot...

You know smurf for the last 6 months we have been getting nailed by static in our room a lot more when we touch things. It does not even help to static guard the fucking place anymore.

I've hit upon the only logical explanation...
Smurf, and possibly GJ, are stealing Lomo's static. Careful Lomo, maybe your SOUL is next!!

This weird cloud cover we've been getting this winter probably has something to do with it, and those hurricanes that juiced up the earth real good. I wonder what the ground to air lightning statics have been looking like lately? Or the other way around.

Hey! Give me my static back!

I don't think I wanna give it back. Is that gonna be a problem, bitch?

Lets examine the facts -
1. It is Winter time.
2. Lower humidity
3. Wool and Polyester clothes for warmth.
4. Cold dry seats vinyl seats.
5. All of the above make lots of static electricity.
6. You are getting shocked more often than say, maybe July.
7. It means NOTHING.

No no no Barry, thanks to the erratic climate conditions it's been a hot ass winter and I've only worn shorts and wife-beaters the entire time. It's got to be something else, probably all these awesome Earth changes.

Where the hell do you live that you've had a "hot ass winter"?
Winter took a while to kick in here on the east coast, but when it did, it was hardly hot ass. If I have to wear the thermals on the morning jog, it's a pretty normal winter.

Well we had it off and on, some cool days, most warm though. We had it in the 80's in early january, and were running the AC in our cars because it was hot. It was also in the 80's in late january, early february, mid-late february, and now. It was a late winter, and early spring. My Chinese peach tree is already bearing fruit, which is awesome because I can't wait. They try showing us the average and pointing that out like, "OOoooOhh, it was 8 degrees above normal." I wonder what the fucking daytime averages looked like, though. I'm sure they were even more than that.

We didn't have a winter. :(
Barely got below freezing for just one night. I feel gipped.

HaHa! The warm air was rising pretty damn hard on sunday, or the electric conditions around Earth were erratic.
Tornadoes set records for March (http://www.kansas.com/mld/kansas/14093208.htm)
"Early reports show as many as 113 tornadoes may have hit five states on Sunday, marking a furious start to the Midwestern tornado season. "For this early in the year, it's a heck of a deal," said Joe Schaefer, director of the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration's Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Okla. "What happens after that is anybody's guess, but all hell usually breaks loose when we get into April, May and June."
113, that's a helluva lot of tornadoes for one day... 150 is the average for the month I believe.

I got bored enough to actually read this post. Barry had it right it’s totally normal that there is more static in the winter time. This is like junior high school science, if not elementary school.

Bitch I'm talking about the tornadoes now. So shut yer mouth. More static electricity is normal in the winter time if your wearing big layers of wooly clothing. I wasn't. Also this started early last Fall. Sorry you're an idiot Joe.

And Tornadoes are common this time of year. Just because there was a lot of tornados one day doesn't mean that the AVERAGE for the season will be any different.
Look at this chart - http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/img/climate/severeweather/F345-2003.gif
So was 1974 the end of the world? It had over 2x as many strong tornadoes as other years. The next year, 1975, was way below average. What was that about?
It's the weather Smurf, and weather is not a steady and predictable thing.
If you are looking for "signs" in everything, you will find them. Problem is they will only be signs for you.
Let me give you an example - I could say, "since 2001, violent tornadoes have doubled each year through 2003."
While that statement is absolutely true, it means nothing, because despite the doubling for three years, 2003 was still below the 50 year average.
Wake up Smurf. The only "end" that is near is the end of your grip on sanity.

I encourage you smurf to go to a book store and buy a fifth grade science book and read.
You make such a fool of yourself when you start plucking away on that keyboard. The biggest factor is the lower humidity. I don't give a rat’s ass about what the fuck you’re wearing.
And since your being the little cocksucker you are how about it? You were gone from the forums for a few days, so where is your post to wrap it all up for my understanding how all the conspiracies tie together?

Now are you saying Grimey is waiting to pounce on Smurf -or- goto General Mayhem and pounce on Grimey?

I live in Orange County, California. I don't think it's gone below forty here since December. We don't have winter, we have extended fall and then summer. The seasons are incredibly drab out here. On a positive note though, I can go to the beach year round, and it's never too terribly cold.

You're just mad Joe because I'm always calling you out on your being an idiot because of the stupid views you have on economics and politics. BlAaAaaAme the liberals! Other people share my disgust, but don't go so far as to call you an idiot, but I like taking that extra step you big fat idiot. You will see no big post tying it all together, because fuck wasting all that time, who do I look like, Nursey?
And Barry, it wasn't the end of the world in 1974, the ocean was still teeming with life back then. These days I just see all sorts of fish, squid, whales, and other things beaching themselves. Also all sorts of starving birds that live around there, seals and penguins, dolphins... tis a sad sight to behold, especially when so much of the world is depending on fish protein more than ever...

It's ok Smurf were still friends. I would not tell if you pushed my buttons you might just use that against me in the future. I probably do obsess about politics to much. It's certainly taboo to be in a forum like Fugly and be conservative. I tried to quit once and just could not help myself. Sometimes I wonder if I have my perspectives correct.
Lomotil I think the recipe for success is to wear lots of wool and keep the humidity down. Maybe alternate your ac and heat in the house every hour it will really run the bill up but it should dry the air. And if your house is equipped with a heat pump turn that off its efficient but really does nothing to dry the air.

I've never even heard of a 'Heat Pump' before (I live in Texas) - but at this point, I'm willing to try anything... :?

Forget all that, just skate around on the carpet in your socks for awhile, it'll come back in no time. Joes solution involves way too much effort. It's like using a cannon to ring a doorbell.
