Did you actually watch it? I thought it was a pretty decent movie.

Exactly, pretty decent, nothing special about it whatsoever. How does that garner an award? Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie basically acted like themselves, they shoot guns, and stuff gets blown up. How does this constitute an award winning movie? On the other hand, the cinematography and directing in Sin City was awesome, even if the script and the plot were nothing special. In order to be worthy of an award it should be something new, fresh, innovative, or exceptionally well executed. Mr. and Mrs. Smith is none of those things. I have now cemented my image as a geek. Take that Steven Hawking.

I gotta disagree with the Sin City comment Dio, while the story itself was pretty simple, the dialogue was amazing. But Mr and Mrs Smith was pretty dull.

I'm not typically a fan of Frank Miller dialogue, Sin City was his best written work, although it has some exceptionally cool characters. Didn't Frank Miller do "Killing Joke" as well?

I really love Franks run on Daredevil, that was probably the best Daredevil ever written, with Kevin Smiths short run right behind him. Franks Old Wolverine stuff was well written too. His new run on Bat-Man is decent so far too. Killing Joke was Alan Moore though.

Gotcha, never heard killingjoke the band, but I've read some things on them. I'll have to check them out, what's they're style, eighties thrash I'm guessing from the pictures.

All I remember is "Follow the Leader" on full blast with a bucket bong and whipping cream (nitrous oxide) bulbs is a high I've never matched since.

I didn't see "The Island," but it didn't look like a sci/fi fantasy pic to me.

from what I understand the movie was based on the premise that a corporation was making clones of people, and using the clones to harvest organs when the original persons organs failed. That sounds like sci-fi to me.
