I'm thinking of buying one so I can use it while I'm at work, since I have a T1 connection here I might as well use it. But what I was wondering was if anyone knew anything about the various products available. Little consumer research before I buy anything.

I sell you one. Cheap. 392X speed. 8K buffer. Serial port. Free 5.25" drive with purchase. Scratch-n-dent wholesale. Make offer.

See now this is the kind of shit I'd expected to see in the Technical Difficulties forum.

Yeah, but nobody goes in there, so it'd be like putting a for sale sign on the back of the house.

I got one I purchased specifically for that purpose. Its external with a usb connection. When I decided to work from home that went out the window. I thought eventually I might built a media pc using one of those Shuttle cases and run the dvd external. It seems a shame for it to sit in the closet like that.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm talking about actually. External DVD drive/burner with a USB connection that I can plug in while I'm at work. My comp at home is slow as fuck (Pentium 2, need I say more?) and it's 56k, so it won't do me much good here, but at work it would be great. I can burn all the videos and things I find on the net.
