Tom Hanks really impressed me in that one. He is a decent actor who has played a lot of really good parts but there usually that same character it seems. I worked as a jail guard for a few years in the early 90's and found the actors, scenes and personalities of the actors to be pretty well dead on typical.

I, too, loved that movie. The Del-frying was exquisite, and I must say a single tear ran down my cheek when Coffey died. I will never forgive these old guys running the world for what they've done :x

That was a really good adaptation of the book.

Nah, I bought it in one paperback set for 10 bucks, not too bad. I could have waited and picked it up at a used bookstore for about $2. What the hell, we live once.

I also rage against the government by voting for non-incumbents. Seriously, what kind of American am I.

Damn the forum paid off I actually learned something. I had no idea the movie was based on a Steven King book. So would the book be worth while after already seeing the movie? I really liked the movie and it should make for a good book also but I'm not a big Steven King book fan.

It's not typical King, in that it's not boring in detail, but they he does give you volumes more backstory than you need. The whole book is about a thousand pages. He easily could have fit everything in in about 240-250 pages.
