does that work on only black clothes? all fabrics? it's hard enough getting schmed to wear black ( somethign about his skintone) but polyester? PFFFT forget about it.

It works on almost all from what I read, They where using black as an extreme expample

This is actually very old. I remember when the first "Night Shot" cameras came out, there was a lot of talk about it:

We had one of the originals and also fitted another with an infrared pass-thru filter to get it to work. It works best in bright sunlight because there is so much natural infrared.
You can pop the front of most IR remote controls off and use them as an IR passthru filter too.
I'm moving this to the "Tech" forums because it seems to fit better there.
