I was checking out this really cool site (opacity.us) and I have been trying to figure out what this device is. Any ideas?

People have guessed it's some type of old ventilator, but it seems too big for that and it doesn't have gauges like a ventilator would have.

At first I though that thing hanging was a hose, but I think it's the electric cord.

Have you ever tried lighting a mentally unbalanced person on fire without the use of an accelerant? I thought this was industry standard.
