News agencies are reporting that Americans are donating at a record pace to help with relief efforts in areas affected by the recent earthquake and tsunami that followed. The governement of America is also sending millions in aid. Can't someone stop this hypocrisy? And ISRAEL is sending aid also. GOD DAMN THEM! Can't somebody stop these people? Doesn't the world realize that the US Government caused the earthquake, and the American people are willing participants in this conspiracy? And CHURCH GROUPS are sending money. God Help us!
I can't take it anymore. American people are so blood thirsty and without conscience. Why does the world accept their filthy, hypocrictical aid?
Can't someone stop the hypocrisy?
I cry a bucket of tears over evil, callous America.

The American people are as much a victim of their (unelected) government as the rest of the world is, only not too many of them realise it...yet. Maybe once the mask completely falls...when it's too late...
SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Aid for Tsunami victims $35 million
Bush Inaugural $45 million
Cost for one day of Iraq war $177 million

As a citizen, taxpayer, and registered voter in America, I have one question for you Nursey - who elected you to "expose" the corrupt government of America? As far as I am concerned, you are just another terrorist. You weapon or choice is a keyboard. You post conspiracy therories that are based in hysteria and paranoia, and you hide behind a mask of pseudo intellectualism and anonymity. I am an American, and the Government looks very different from this side of the pond.
Spend a week in the USA, and you will see it differently too. In the mean time, shut the hell up. You offend the people of this Democracy with your delusional BS.

Yeah lets pat good ol America on it's back for contributing such a huge amount. It's a shame your president couldn't keep the grin off his face as he was informing the world just how generous and great his country is.
World Bank $250m
UK $96m
EU $44m
US: $35m
Canada: $33m
Japan: $30m
Australia: $27m
France: $20.4m
Denmark: $15.6m
Saudi Arabia: $10m
Considering the amount of people in the USA and it's wealth , doesn't look to me to be that generous.

hey barry... why are certain documents that should be opned up under the FOIA still marked top secret and stashed away?...

Faye Wachs said she was impressed by the efforts of the Thai government and the International Committee for the Red Cross, but "she was appalled at the treatment they got" from the U.S. government, her mother said.
At the airport in Bangkok, other governments had set up booths to greet nationals who had been affected and to help repatriate them, she said.
That was not the case with the U.S. government, Wachs told her mother. It took the couple three hours, she said, to find the officials from the American consulate, who were in the VIP lounge.
Because they had lost all their possessions, including their documentation, they had to have new passports issued.
But the U.S. officials demanded payment to take the passport pictures, Helen Wachs said.

Please UT. The $35M was just the first of what this country will do. It does not count the individual giving of the American people or American charities either.
You want to talk about cheap? How about the whopping $10M from the Saudis? That is about 10 minutes worth of oil production. Don't bash America. We have always been the world's checkbook. Tally the inflow of money after 90 days and you will see.

That was money just given by every countries goverment, it didnt include charities and donations from any country. So it will be higher from every country not just USA.And i didn't comment on any other countries contribution coz we weren't discussing them , we were talking about how great America thinks of itself.
Lets hope America does give more, it sucks the life from the world it's about time it gave something back. And as for being the worlds checkbook, i would laugh but it's not funny. It gives money but it only pays for the fuckin mess it's made in the first place.

I have two questions.
1. Since when do a few people in a disaster area become "the US Government".
2. If Wachs, who is married to an Oriental, is so embarrassed by this country, why was she so damn glad to get home?
"Wachs, who described herself as "shell-shocked but happy to be coming home," is scheduled to arrive Wednesday morning in Los Angeles, her mother said."

Ms Reiv,
I see 8 or more clients every day in therapy. Hold group counseling 3 nights a week, speak at least three times a week for civic groups, schools, etc. I maintain a home, and raise children. I serve on the board of two State agencies. I volunteer time investigating sexual abuse cases....

I think the reason a lot of what is being said ,is said, because right now our country is under a microscope due to current events, and rightly so, but there is nothing wrong with being proud of were you were born, especially if you want it (America) to stop serving the rest of the world HUGE shit sandwiches and just be a better place. Basically I would like America to serve the same sized shit sandwhiches that other countrys in the world serve, as to not draw so much attention to our menu...god that turned out wierd but I think I made my point with it...I hope....
And on another note this disaster that some of you are talking about, it's horrible and hits a lot closer to home for me than I care to admit, I have a loved ones family members over there right now and talk to them on a daily basis (yes thank gahd they are alright) but I cannot express enough how fucking terrible of a situation it is over there, and I think I would say unrationally terrible things to anyone that makes light of it on this board.

See the American government can't win in the situation they have put themselves in, alot of people who i have spoken to fall into 2 catagories the first being that America bowed to world pressure and decided it better stump up extra cash or it would look like tight fisted bastards or the second which is, like the enormous Diva that it is decided to hold back and arrive late at the party strutting in, flashing diamonds shouting look at us we're great.Sorry Barry i fall into the second opinion.

Thanks Schmed, I like and respect you too. One thing that I have noticed about Americans (generalizing, yes) is that we can yell and scream at each other, totally disagree with each other, and then go out the next day and knock back a few together like we are family. We are an extremely diverse group of people, yet we share some basic values. One of those values is simple - we can hate some of the things our country does, yet love our country enough to die for it at the same time. The problem with many of the people making comments about America (in this forum) is that they simply hate America. Americans will accept critisicm from those who love America, but no red blooded American is going to sit idly by and let someone that hates this country rail against it.
For all of you that hate Amercia, please press your face close to the screen and accept this digital punch in the nose.

The only thing I do know is that the Gerorge W. Bush Administration really sux.
A few things you need to know before you make statements like that.
1. A large portion of Americans disagree with you. Mostly Republicans, which seem to represent about half the country. These same people tend to be reasonably educated, employed, and somewhat moral. (That is not to say that Democrats are not also educated, employed and moral.)
2. To believe that Bush was elected by only half the Country, and is therefore despised by the other half, is far from the truth. The truth is this - one half of the country would not want any Republican in office. Our country is a two party system, and one party always criticizes the other. It is a wonderful check and balance of power. When Clinton was in office, the Republicans hated him, and did everything they could to hold him accountable. I would expect no less from Democrats now. I despised Clinton, but I still maintained respect for him and the office he held. I may have criticized him, but he was still my President. I criticize Bush, but he is my President too.
Half of our country would not have voted for God himself unless he ran as an independant. The loyalty to party is strong. People in other countries make a huge mistake believing that just because half the country hates Bush, that we are a country divided. Not true. Remember what we I said in the thread above - An American can bitch about America all day long. It is their right. Just don't make the mistake of thinging that their complaining means that they don't back their government .
"the Gerorge W. Bush Administration really sux."
People said the same thing about his Father's Administration, and about Clinton, Nixon, Regan. Carter.... but my question is this - What has George W Bush done that gives a non-American, 19 year old pot head the right to declare as fact "he really sux?" I would love to know.
Before you scream "War in Iraq", I challenge you with this. The whole world screamed at Bush Senior when he nailed Iraq in 1993. Your home work assignment is to find one Kuwaitee that wishes the US had "maintained Diplomatic efforts", instead of opening a can of laser guided whoop ass. You were 7 years old at the time. I doubt your memory allows you to connect the events of 1993 and today.

New Zealand if you really wanna know Pukey. And if the USA produces complete fuck ups like yourself maybe there is something wrong with it. I wasn't attacking America until flag flying Barry decided on a personal crusade into how great America was and i was just pointing out that's its not as great as he likes to think.
Well, shit. I had no idea that Utopia and New Zealand were the same place!
And you were jumping on the bandwagon and you know it. I've seen you run with the herd too many times to take your 'point' seriously.
No New Zealand isn't Utopia but it's a place i would like to live, i never stated i wanted to live in a perfect coutry, try reading what people write.I know it's hard to concentrate when your heads so fucked but pls try.
And if i was gonna jump on the bandwagon Pukey it certainly wouldn't be against America on an American forum would it.Brain..you have one...use it.And most people on here who have read what i write wouldn't say i "run with the herd" i write what i think and don't really care if people agree or disagree, unlike yourself who seems to need people to love them.

Walmart totally sucks. It's the antichrist of retail.
If I could get my thoughts together right now, I would write more about them.
Their commericals are the worst. I think I saw one where they cured some blind kid... and isn't there one where they show a disabled person working there?
And this is totally unrelated to walmart, but semi related to disabled... Does anyone know who Williams Hung is? And does he have Downs Syndrome? The poor guys so exploited, he will be singing Walmart's jingle. Do they have a jingle?
Southpark has a terrific episode about Walmart. It's one of their best to date.

Nice to see all the countries working together to help.
Austrailia, Germany, and all the European countries, even China, which rarely gives charitably have made substantial pledges.
One has to wonder why the oil rich middle eastern nations are not represented. Such a chance to demonstrate a little "brotherhood of man" wasted by them.
India continues to refuse AID. The world does not understand why, but it really is a part of Hinduistic beliefs. Simplified, Hindus believe that suffering is an illusion, and to interfere with it can interfere with Karma. I feel so sorry for the people who have to suffer. Another example of religion causing needless suffering.
Don't get me wrong - I believe in God, I just don't believe in the mess created by dogmatic religion. (christian, hindu or whatever)
Anyway - Go World. Good job helping these poor people who are devasted by the tsunami.
