Got this in an eMail today, havent verified it, but what the heck.

A few points to remember and consider: You can verify the tax information at http://money.cnn.com/news/specials/election/2008/index.html, if you'd like.
(INTERESTING DATA JUST RECEIVED ON TAXES & PROPOSED CHANGES IN TAXES AFTER 2008 GENERAL ELECTION.)
Time to consider your pocketbook:

CAPITAL GAINS TAX

MCCAIN:
0% on home sales up to $500,000 per home (couples). McCain does not propose any change in existing home sales income tax.
OBAMA:
28% on profit from ALL home sales

How does this affect you?
If you sell your home and make a profit, you will pay 28% of your gain on taxes. If you are heading toward retirement and would like to down-size your home or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you make from your home will go to taxes. This proposal will adversely affect the elderly who are counting on the income from their homes as part of their retirement income.

DIVIDEND TAX
MCCAIN : 15% (no change)

OBAMA : 39.6%

How will this affect you ?
If you have any money invested in stock market, IRA, mutual funds, college funds, life insurance, retirement accounts, or anything that pays or reinvests dividends, you will now be paying nearly 40% of the money earned on taxes if Obama becomes president. The experts predict that 'Higher tax rates on dividends and capital gains would crash the stock market, yet do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit.'

INCOME TAX (find your bracket)
MCCAIN (no changes)

Single making 30K - tax $4,500
Single making 50K - tax $12,500
Single making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 125K - tax $31,250

OBAMA (reverse all tax cuts)

Single making 30K - tax $8,400
Single making 50K - tax $14,000
Single making 75K - tax $23,250
Married making 60K - tax $16,800
Married making 75K - tax $21,000
Married making 125K - tax $38,750

Under Obama, your taxes will more than double!

How does this affect you? No explanation needed. This is pretty straight
forward.

INHERITANCE TAX

MCCAIN 0% (No change, Bush repealed this tax)

OBAMA Restore the inheritance tax

How does this affect you?
Many families have lost businesses, farms, ranches, and homes that have been in their families for generations because they could not afford the inheritance tax. Those willing their assets to loved ones will only lose them to these taxes.
NEW TAXES BEING PROPOSED BY OBAMA

New government taxes proposed on homes that are more than 2400 square feet.

New gasoline taxes (as if gas weren't high enough already)

New taxes on natural resources consumption (heating gas, water, electricity)

New taxes on retirement accounts, and last but not least....

New taxes to pay for socialized medicine so we can receive the same level of medical care a s other third-world countries!!!

I hope McCain nails him to the wall in the debates.

He never said "change for the better." Time to stock up on guns and ammo just in case Obama gets elected.

It's also listed under Urban Legends on Snopes. But if you read the details here: http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/would_obama_tax_my_profits_if_i.html It's true. He'll raise the ever living shit out of taxes, just not AS much as that email says. Like, "UP to 28%" on capital gains instead of "28%".

See? Nothing to worry about.

Somebody said something funny that I read the other day:
The question was, "what's the difference between democrats and republicans?" and this guy answered, "A Republican is a Democrat who's been mugged. A Democrat is a Republican who's been arrested."

I thought that was good.

Lomotil

Does it fucking matter? Really?

The author of the initial email itself wanted to alert the misinformed/uneducated majority as to just how different the Liberal/Conservative agenda is. Whether or not the email was based on strict, documented numbers is inconsequential. Whomever originated this was obviously trying to spread the word of the stance that the Democratic party takes when it comes to "what the government is entitled to" vs. the Republican modus operandi, which, is more conductive towards the reward for personal achievement, and the benefit associated with it.

I would hope that anyone that has studied economics, and is a legal voter, can make the obvious association between Obama (or any Liberal/Democrat,) and Socialism. The problem is that we have so many fucking misinformed, uninformed, easily led, or just downright fucking stupid voters that have the ability to cast their media-influenced, purchased vote toward the 'Democratic' party.

If I were raising a child, and were asked the question "What's the difference between a Republican and a Democrat?" I would answer it as follows:

"A Republican believes that a Capitalist society works, because it rewards personal achievement. A Democrat discourages individual growth, as it punishes those that have achieved and hopes to form a society that is completely dependent on the government for sustenance."

I can't fucking come to grips with how many people have been brainwashed, cornwalled, and stuck in the Obama camp because Jessica Alba makes a cameo in his commercials.

Oh, and "Bullgod666" - I have been. Trust me. :)

I was at my sons open house last night and this jack ass comes in wearing a 'change we can believe in' t-shirt. I just wanted to go over to him and say, "that shirts the shit yo, where you get dat at? I heard if he elected we aints nevah gunna have to work agin''

I like it when my 8 year old asks questions about the election and I can answer them as unbiased as possible and even he sees the reality of the situation. The his dumb ass cousin tells him that if obama is elected he is going to paint the white house black. I had to explain to my son that his cousin is a retard and to not ever talk to her again.

up to 28%? So if I profit 60k over my current mortgage when I sell my house, that I have 'lived' in for over 2 years I could pay up to almost 17,000.00 in taxes? So now, my hard work, and money (that I paid taxes on all ready) that went into restoring and remodeling this house to get it back to its 1920s magnificense goes away, all the time put into it is worth nothing.

You cant write off expenses on a house you live in for repairs. Its not like a rental, that you can write off the cost of upkeep.

I guess I am so tired of taxes right now I might move to that island that brando bought.

I could be crazy, but if the south would have won the war of northern aggression slavery wouldnt have been around forever. It would have gone away on its own (please dont think that when R.E. Lee signed the line at Appomatics Court House that slavery was instantly ended). The bigger picture is that the South wanted a stronger state government and a weak federal government. Let the states take care of themselves, but still be united as a country when it came to other matters (wars mostly).

There was legislation not to long ago in the Georgia house that proposed all Georgia residents would stop paying federal taxes on their pay checks, and would not file annual income tax papers with the IRS. The state would withold taxes (at a higher rate than current state taxes) and then send the amount the state saw fit to the federal government. It was a beautiful plan. I think the main concern was the amount of federal taxes the working population pays out annually compared to the amount of federal funds the state sees in return. The plan made a ton of sense and think of the overhead you could cut by doing so?

Many Americans must really believe that the proposals Obama has made for healthcare and so many other things are free. Someone has to pay for all the hand-outs, that would be us. My sphincter tightens just thinking about how big a tucking we're going to take with Obama in office.

And "Lomo," so have I.

I guess I am so tired of taxes right now I might move to that island that brando bought.

One thing I'm pissed at the current administration for is their neglect to abolish that inane 'inheritance tax' - Always seemed like 'double jeapordy' to me. The notion that someone's documented accrual of wealth, which was obviously taxed in the first place, all of a sudden is subject to additional taxing once it changes hands within a family? Fucking ridiculous.

I could be crazy, but if the south would have won the war of northern aggression slavery wouldnt have been around forever. It would have gone away on its own (please dont think that when R.E. Let the states take care of themselves, but still be united as a country when it came to other matters (wars mostly).

For three years, I lived in Rhode Island as a child, and there was a mansion called the "Breakers Mansion" (sp?) - it was rumored to have underground tunnels, complete with shackles, that extended to the coast, so that the slave trade could carry on long before (and after) the end of the Civil War.

I can't personally confirm this, but it certainly isn't outside the realm of probability.

Not a bad idea, really... I doubt it would've flied at the national level (but if it didn't, what would they do, honestly? Revoke their statehood?)

I'm happy to live in one of the last bastions of seclusion from excess hindrance, as we pay no state income taxes here...

Be careful speaking of compressible sphincters when we've got a Democrat in orifice... err, I mean, 'office.'

As far as 'stocking up' goes - the AK should be in this week (if not, I'm going to be really pissed,) and I'm seriously looking into buying a FN five-seven (the li'l sister, not the original P-90,) and after that, look into the loopholes involved in acquiring one of those 'Super Shorty" 12-ga shotguns--before I can't legally do so.

If you've got some thoughts on things you expect to become outlawed soon, LMK... I'm trying to concentrate on things that won't be so easy to acquire in the very near future.

I'll definitely be posting some pics... Not to worry, not to worry...

And apparently, since the "Super-Shorty" came from the factory with a pistol grip, it can be modified to a shorter barrel length without being *entirely* illegal. They classify it as a "AOW" (Any Other Weapon) - and you have to go through a few loopholes to get it, I could talk about them, or just give you the copied text:

BUYING NFA ITEMS

What the hell is this NFA stuff? NFA stands for the National Firearms Act, which was passed by Congress in 1934. The NFA provides for the registration and tax of certain types of weapons: machine guns, silencers, short-barreled rifles, sawed-off shotguns and gadget guns (which are considered to be AOWs- Any Other Weapon.

Obviously, the BFG-50 rifle is NOT an NFA weapon, though there are bills in Congress working to change that). The popular story is that the NFA was passed to help curb the violence of the "Roaring '20s", brought about mostly because of Prohibition. Anyone who knows anything about the way our Federal Government works will realize that with the ending of Prohibition in 1933, something had to be done with all those Treasury agents, and enforcing a new batch of bogus laws was just the ticket. The $200 tax levied by the NFA ($5 for AOWs) was, in 1934, an incredibly large sum. Now it's mostly an annoyance. The bottom line is that yes, you can buy a machine gun, silencer, or other similarly evil weapon (that's a joke, of course...evil is not a trait which objects can possess), provided that you live in a state which allows them. You'll have to jump through a few hoops and pay the tax, but at least you can still buy this stuff. So here is a step-by step guide for buying an NFA item from Serbu Firearms, Inc.:

Full auto firearms are also registered under the National Firearms Act of 1934, however, the ironically named Firearms Owners Protection Act of 1986 prohibited the civilian registration of full-auto firearms made since that date - which is why we can't offer these fun toys for sale.

Make sure the item you want is legal in your state. Some states ban all NFA weapons, some ban just certain types.

1. Contact a local Class 3 dealer or Class 2 manufacturer and find out what needs to be done in your state in order to purchase an NFA item.
2. Make sure you can get a sign off. This is the major snag to buying an NFA item. To complete your BATF paperwork (BATF Form 4) which transfers the NFA item to you, you'll need the signature of a local law enforcement chief. Not just a street cop, but the Sheriff, State's Attorney, etc. Said person is not required to sign the form, and in many locations around the country, won't.
3. Form a corporation. This is a loophole which gets you around the sign off. Do this ONLY if you can't get a sign off. The down side is that there are many hassles associated with forming and maintaining a corporation. Another down side is that the corporation owns the guns, you don't.
4. Send money. Usually your local dealer charges a fee for handling the transfer.
5. Wait. The dealer-to-dealer paperwork usually takes at least 30 days, and we're usually backordered to the point where your dealer won't see a gun, silencer, whatever, for 45-60 days.
6. Rejoice when your gun comes in! Welcome to the restrictive, elite and fun world of NFA. Here in the U.S., we enjoy as a Constitutionally protected right something which most nations of the world have stripped from their subjects....uh....citizens. Be responsible and safe!

State Information

ALL the stuff you see on this page is legal per Federal law, while many states choose to outlaw some or all of it.

Our silencers are legal in most states, but are not legal in: CA, HI, KS, MO, IA, MN, IL, MI, NJ, NY, MA, RI. Short barrelled or sawed off shotguns are illegal in MA, and probably some of these other states as well. It is not possible for Serbu Firearms to maintain a current list of all state laws, so please make sure any NFA item you are ordering is legal in your state before initiating the lengthy paperwork process.

Please don't ask us to "sell one to your parents" if you happen to live in one of these states. Our silencers and short barreled shotguns are very reasonably priced but the cost goes to around $250,000 or 10 years in jail if you happen to possess one illegally in one of the above mentioned states.

I don't live in one of the above mentioned states. :)

I was looking at them on GunsAmerica.com last night and saw that you needed a $5 dollar tax stamp to get it, shouldn't be too bad. I have friends with suppressed handguns and machine guns, it's just a matter of getting finger printed, a couple of signatures, pay the federal tax, and away you go.

I've been reading up on the laws, buying a few things here and there, and working on securing that coveted hookup on a Sheriff or Police Chief to simplify things, sign the forms, etc. with the ultimate purpose of legally acquiring some "AOW" pieces. (This includes silencers, suppressors, rifles under 16", numerous carbines, etc...)

Hell, the last gun I bought (the Five-seveN) was purchased from a partner in a law firm, former State Attorney, and still didn't know that a firearm can be transferred from one individual to another without any registration/background checks/etc.

It's a quite amusing when you have to provide links to the state's website proving this - to an attorney.

Do you watch a lot of Fox News? My dad watched that station 24/7 for a couple years and it caused him to become paranoid.

Turn off the tv ... then hook up a video game system to it and turn it back on again.

Yes, arsenal is tough, use cache. That way they dont know what your really talking about. "Yea, I have a small cache at home"

I actually watched the Palin speech on CNN, just because I was watching it in HD, and she has a nice turd cutter on her. So anyway, I dont think Fox is anymore biased than CNN. CNN just leans the wrong way. I dont like the way they 'report' the dems 'retort' immediately after the speeches. I didnt see that during the DNC.

But I dont think America in general is as stupid as the Dems think. If we are god help us.

Fox news? That would require me to both have cable or satellite, and watch television. Innocent on both counts. ;)

If you're talking about the Nintendo Zapper, it was actually orange and gray, and if it matters any, the original ones were the same two-tone gray as the NES console itself. And yes, I have both. :)
