I wonder if it will be any good? It looks like it might be.

Looks stupid. There is no doubt in my mind that the ending will make you angry for some reason.

Well, it has always been a fear of mine to wake up during an operation. A few years ago I told the anesthesiologist to give me more than normal so I wouldn't wake up. He told me that I wouldn't be able to scream with a tube shoved down my throat.
Shit worked though. I was out in no time.

There was a Nip/Tuck episode where a woman was under some drug that made her appear out though she could hear and feel the surgery she had. Creepy.
There's also a short story by Stephen King where a guy is seemingly dead and about to get an autopsy while he is aware of everything around him. Creepy x2.

I loved that Stephen King book. "Everything's Eventual". You should watch the movie, "Riding the Bullet."

It's really rare. I was worried about it though. I watched them inject that shit in the iv and watched it go into my hand. I looked at my hand and thought to myself, "This isn't going to work." I looked at the surgery door and I was fucking out until I woke up in recovery. I saw a Christmas tree and thought I had been comotose for three months. Turned out it was a tree that they decorated year-round. Without my glasses though, it was a scary first thing to see.

My knee surgery went by in a blink. I remember someone talking to me about what they were going to do, then when I looked around, everyone was gone and I was in recovery. At first I thought they were coming in later but it was already over. Anesthesia is the bomb.

Oh, I actually sit down and read them. :)
I tried that audio book thing a long time ago with Dean Koontz's "Lightning", but I just couldn't get into it.

I read the Dark Tower series but I like the CDs on long trips to pass the time. Stephen King and Tom Clancy are my picks for driving.

I would rather listen to music.
It's hard for me to get interested in a book audibly. Especially if their voice is annoying which most people's are.

When I had my arm fixed (repaired bones and stuff) the anesthesia guy was fiddling with the nerves in my armpit (yea I know) making my hand tingle, then feel like it was burning then pow. I was numb from the shoulder down. Pretty cool. Then they put me in this twilight crap with these two nurses babbling about their weekend. Then they roll me into the 'surgery' room. Has this stainless stuff all over right, even the lower half of the walls. They have this built in stereo jamming out. The doctor comes in and he's like, oh, you're still awake, then the nurse puts something in my IV and I apparently mumbled curse words the whole time I was under. :)

When I was about 6, I had a hole in my eardrum and had it have it fixed and they used gas to knock me out. They did that once before for stitches. It was horrible and they tried to scent it 'bubble gum'. I fought for my life and ended up being strapped down. It was fucking scary.
